I am not really getting a strong sense of harmonic depth from any of those tremolo recordings.

All admirable players in their own ways.

The guy at the top of the thread has great stuff happening.

The guy at the top -- Yago Santos -- is really good. The intro to his Solea por Bulerias reminds me a little of Dani de Moron. But he also sounds a little more traditional than Dani. Either way, very cool.

I don't hear much difference between Bursches recording and the original from Riqueni. Don't know what you mean with "their own ways". They pretty much nailed it exactly like Riqueni.

Or do you mean the tremolo composition itself lacks "harmonic depth" (whatever that means) ?

Its a nice tremolo piece but... why repeat it on loop for 3 minutes? I was expecting a part B but soon I realized it wouldnt come

Also.. it sounds like an Erik Satie ripoff lol

' Don't know what you mean with "their own ways"'

I mean that they are all accomplished and deserve respect. And that they have unique and various strengths.

I asked my partner, whose sole qualifications is that she has suffered twelve years of my practice regime, for her opinion on the Requini performance and she was not impressed. I wasn't either. I often check with her, she has no agenda.

By harmonic depth I mean the difference between Christina Aguilera and Roberta Flack. Or Robert De Niro and Keanu Reeves. Neither the words nor the notes ..... more the everything.

I find it interesting how differently we all listen to an offered piece of music.
I think that each player has given the subject their own edge ,emotion ,harmonic depth......or individuality, whatever the' label 'given ,its there .
For me ,the Riqueni performance is the one. Warts and all he just plays it....it feels that it is where he is at that time ....inherent in this appears to be what he is going through at that time, that's what I get...emotion. I believe he penned this composition...but I may be wrong?
Bursche delivers a technically nailed live performance and Santos has added an extra flavour of his individuality to what is a fantastic recording.
All these performances are first class and like all things open for discussion, the content is subjective .....if this thread was to have hit the forum at a different time we would all have a different perspective perhaps?
?

I was somehow left with the impression that Yago Santos was playing a Lazarides guitar, not a Conde? I could be mistaken tho. If a Conde, what model? This guitar has some pretty awesome flamenco growl.

BTW the quality would likely be similar. Lazarides prices are now so high that they are more expensive than many Condes. 8K in Euro is no pocket change by any measure.

I think its a newer Felipe Conde.
Definately not Lazarides, they look and sound totally different.

Huge difference. You're just not hearing it now. Listen again in ten years.
