Happy Tuesday evening folks.....watch and enjoy pink
THis was posted long time ago somewhere. THis was from summer 2009 at Ford THeatre in Hollywood CA. THis was completely improvised un rehearsed performance (except for that single stop mid compas), and also first time I ever played for Fanny. It is a good example of how the dancer leads the musicians.
This is a regular watch for me....its in my favorites pile on YouTube. The whole piece is just fantastic ,you gotta be a happy man to have been a part of that? I tried to find it on the Foro as I assumed that someone must have already posted a link but found nothing. Anyway figured that it should be on here......
And yes Ricardo is good.... nothing new. Wow... improvised... at one guitar for you, I would say no big deal for you but with 2 guitars... is one of you leading and the other one following closely? Like at 2:14 and on, you did not know the progression? A bit more light would have been nice.

The intro solo thing was Antonio Triana...the rest was all made up on sight. THere were SIX other dance performers that night, only two got rehearsal time (Antonio Granjero and Roberto a local favorite) and her's was the most improvised. The idea of the show was to have it as improvised as possible. Antonio Triana had worked with all the other dancers except genevieve (the girl doing palmas) and I knew her stuff already so between two of us, it was easy to follow each other's lead. In some cases the singer was helpful in knowing the direction of the dance too. (jesus and yiyi). All dancers were not happy due to lack of rehearsal time, except her, she knew the best way to handle this show. She only showed us the intro llamada during sound check. The result was her dance came off as the most solid.
Fanny really is pretty top notch. I've seen her a few times and she always brings it. Last time with Jason was just nuts, relentless footwork and according to Jason also nearly all improvised.
