Just to let you know that I´m logging out and that I will not be logging in for a long time. Time will show how long. But untill at least autumn, I wont be participating.
I´ve stayed here to long. I hope you accept my apollogizes. I should have logged out some years ago, but I didnt do so because of fear. Fear of not surviving. Fear of not selling. I know that I´m far from being the only one participating here mostly for that reason. But thats another story.
Enough is enough. I have been here since summer 2003. Almost 10 years. (I had another login before). I dont think I have more to say and I can feel that my membership is being a negative energy on the foro.
There are things going on here that I strongly dislike and which I cant accept. Its not my forum and its not me making the rules or saying where the limits are. This I accept and in order to respect that, I have to leave. At least for a while.
I may come back in autumn and have a look at how things are. Maybe I will stay just as a purebread prostitute (pp), only advertising my guitars and only showing my work but not participating in the discussions. If that wont be allowed then (it is now), I will have to accept that and either not participate or change my attitude on the foro. But before doing that, I will stay away for a while.

I felt the same way when I took my 2 year long break, Anders, although for different reasons the result was the same.
I can only comment that -and i Know i speak for a large number of members- you are a great luthier and -above all- an awesome human being. Your absence will leave a void that will long for your return. If there is any adjustment we can make to make the Foro a better place, I am certain that many here will be willing to oblige your requests.
If I, on the other hand, should have offended you, whenever referring to you or your work, please know that it was not my intention and have for you and the guitars you make the highest esteem.

Hi Anders,
Your posts were always one of my reasons for regularly logging on here.
I really like how you have shared your knowledge of guitar building, and I particularly loved the recent documentation of your violin project. It is also great to read flamenco stories from an non Spanish amateur player in Spain, somehow it helps put things in perspective.
Hope you have a great summer, make and sell many more guitars, boats, violins, mandolins and return sometime in the future.

Thanks for all of your posts, Anders. They have been informative and helpful. I hope you return.
I disagree with much of what goes on in each internet forum that I frequent. That is one of the main reasons I frequent some of them: to be reminded regularly of the wide range of opinion, belief, style and indeed deplorable behavior that run rampant in the world.
But I can see how it could be depressing.
There is enough political behavior that I find deplorable here in Texas, that at times I consider leaving my native state, where I have returned in retirement. But then I think, where would I go that would be completely congenial? I haven't come up with any answer.
I have always had a few serious differences with my social environment, and at age 75 I don't see that stopping any time soon. It doesn't keep me from seriously enjoying life.

Your membership on the foro is a long time Anders, never thought I be still a member here. One way or the other it feels like kind of a family. Personally I had to get used to the situation of feelings toward people i have never met. And the "liquid" situation according to people on internet.
I think you feel the same, it is allways difficult to sail straight.
Have a nice time, see you in autumn back on the foro.

As far as i'm concerned you already earned yourself a lifetime pp-right several times (and not only because i like and respect you). Whatever comes from this, i wish you all the best.

I don't think it's so bad here but, maybe I'm part of the problem that's why? I have been told by some people that leave because of things I have said in the past. I don't really care, I am as political with my views as I can be these days. Anyway, take care. I will be in Sanlucar this july if you happen to get a chance to travel down there, would be fun to meet up.

- same words I would have said -
Anders, I hope you change your mind because the lack of people like you weakens the value of sharing things of this passion for flamenco and guitars in this forum.

Like others I wonder whether I mightt have been among the offenders. Which however I wouldn´t like to be, because I very much appreciate your inetgrity and honesty. Values more valuable today than before in modern times.
I do hope that you may have had more reasons than just commercial ones with participating, and will certainly be glad to see you back on this board.
Like Ricardo, I think this forum to not be bad at all. It is the most interesting one I have seen, after another fine board for AE, visited by thoughtful and educated, often sensitive folks as quite a refreshing contrast to the average out there.
I might have missed out on low-brow threads though.
RE: I´m taking a long break from th... (in reply to Anders Eliasson)
Lots of garbage threads on the Foro for the past year or so, seems like member turnover, and Ron's departure sucked some "nice" out of the place. Don't blame you at all.

Sorry to see you go. Your contributions here are a main reason I frequent the foro. I hope you'll be back after a break. I definitely understand the need for some time off.

Anders, If you can put together the plane fare, come to Japan for a vacation. We have an extra room. But you have to eat sitting on the floor.
We'll burn this town down fishing for tiny tasty fish on the breakwater and we could go to the deer sanctuary island and visit the volcanic hot springs. After that the sky is the limit. We could drive two hours to a student Sevillanas show!

Yeah go and build boats or something Anders . Your descriptions on playing, such as , image a fat woman dancing seductively on a hot night while a warm mediteranian breeze blows , will stay with me forever .

Anders, I sure will miss your posts on this foro. Be it about guitars, violins, boats, personal things (sad and happy things), all these were reasons for me to regularly check the foro. My highlight was telling about the blanca you were building for me (you can't imagine how proud I was) after my visit to your workshop in October 2011. Although your wife was already in bad health condition, you nevertheless took the time to advice me about the woods for my new blanca no.91, showed me how to play the flamenco way instead of the classical way. And then finally in February 2012 my precious arrived here in the Netherlands and my flamenco adventure started. Anders, I hope you will come back to the foro someday, and I am sure we will meet again when I visit Andalucia again in the future. Wish you a great summer, and take care.

A bit sad to see you go away for a while, laddie. I guess we all feel like a rest sometimes.
I don't always agree with your views.
But I always respect them.
(For what it's worth. . .)
Enjoy the summer. Take a trip to Canada. Go fishing. Help me fix my broken fences. . .

Hey Anders,
that's really suprising and shocking for me. I know we met here just a few times, but your advice was always invaluable for me. Thank you for being such a fantastic guy and luthier! I hope i can visit you in Spain some time!

Anders, somehow I think you have directed this toward my association with this list. I have given more information on fine tuning guitars than any other builder, as far as I know; yes, knowledge that has taken me years and years to digest and accumulate for the construction of fine guitars.
And as far as I know, I haven't said anything negative about a member's person other than argue a few points about sound ports, which is purely technical, not personal. And this was meant to be positive, even though some people have taken a direct offense from it.
And I hope you grow with the understanding that no one here dislikes you, as everyone is just trying to get along in this world and tell his own story about what he does with his craft, and then allow others to do their thing.
For anyone to think that this is their list and everything must go their way or they find it impossible to stay and relate to a difference of opinion, is far from my understanding of how chat lists work.
But I wish you all the best, as no man is an island or has his sole purpose to be worshiped as master of his own universe. There are plenty of different ideals in this world and you should get to know them...it wouldn't hurt, Old Sport.
Respectfully yours......a fellow builder who likes your work.

I believe that you luthiers in this forum are ALL very respectable with special skills and talent. I want only to say that in my field, all the times we (architects) use the kind of words that sound like "I have given more....than any other", that word "MORE" allways gives problems to the ENJOYMENT of sharing the experience.
