Going to Ron's send-off?
If I can at all manage it, I plan to drive to Scotland to attend Ron's last gig. I can't fly as my passport has expired and you need one even for internal flights nowadays.
Anyone who wants to join me for the journey, please let me know here and we might be able to organise a pick-up. I will be travelling from Somerset.

I have traveled in the not too distant past with just a photo I.D so it might be worth checking if you will be able to fly just with one.
My driving licence is in for a new photo would you believe and if I can make it - depending upon the date you come up with - I will be stopping over in Halifax to break it up.

To anyone considering coming to my Dad's funeral thinking about having it on Tuesday 11th of September at 11.30 - its still to be confirmed, although I don't think there will be a problem.
The funeral director promised he'd call me later today to confirm an exact time and date. He was also kind enough to have a look at pubs/restaurants/etc in the surrounding area (which we can all go to after the ceremony is over) he said he would get back to me on that too.

Tuesday 11th September at 11.30am has been confirmed.
The address of the crematorium is: Aberdeen Crematorium Kaimhill Road Aberdeen AB10 7JL
and the service will be held in the East Chapel.
James at Aberdeen Funeral Directors gave me a list of pubs/hotels for us to have the wake at. He highlighted a few places he recommends: Four Mile (Kingswells), Palm Court, Treetops Hotel.
There are a few more that are in hotels which might make it easier for you, Simon! Aberdeen Larches Hotel Atholl Hotel Cloverleaf Hotel Summerhill Hotel
I'll check these places out and get back to you with what one I think would be a good place to have it. Feel free to check out these hotels for room prices. A few other hotels in Aberdeen that are pretty reasonable are Premier Inn, Travelodge, Holiday Inn and Britannia Hotel - we have a few of them dotted around Aberdeen, so its really just a matter of where we have the wake - which ideally would be close to the crematorium, so I'll check out surrounding places aswell as the ones on the list.
I'm not sure what we want to do about food and drinks? The only wake I've been to was held at my Aunt's house and they had tea and biscuits. I was thinking we have a yummy-as-**** lunch followed by beer, whiskey and more beer!
Let me know what you think! Oh and I just realised I have a text from you Simon, I'm free all day so call feel free to give me a buzz later!

Sorry AC, The actual address is wrong, its the one for the old crematorium in Garthdee. It should be off Queens Road past Hazlehead, going out towards Skene and Kingswells.

Yeah, I thought something wasn't right about it. But Google maps kept directing me to that address. I called today and got the correct address, I was going to change it, but you got in there before me! Aha. Cheers Donald!
