LOL 'hideous' is a good word. I wonder what is up with that, looks like an eye patch to hide some big defect. Or they ran out of the normal one so they grabbed a shoe sole. I wonder if they made many like this.

ugly would be an understatement. what is weird is over the past few months i have seen, in photos, several flamenco guitars with black plates. white ones i understand but black?

Wow I winced at that. I cringe when someone one asks me to do a black tap plate. I had to do black tortoise shell plastic plate last year. ...oh why did I get up that day.

Black golpeadores are ugly enough – though I have seen Juan Habichuela playing a guitar with black golpeadores. But no luthier on earth would make one in that shape, and then put it on a classical guitar.

It's obviously a homemade job by some imbecile who doesn't know the first thing about flamenco. After seeing that photo I had to skip lunch.

Do you think he kind of looks like Hunter S. Thompson?

Not liking the black tappies, but loving the Juan. Quite the robust tremolo.
