Got a new dog!
Some of you may remember that I lost my best friend, River the Ridgeback, in January. It was a very hard time and he is sorely missed but yesterday we adopted another dog from the local rescue. She is a lurcher called Queenie and seems very happy to be part of a family.

Been wanting to keep a dog ( meanwhile thinking, two specimens would be even better with social species ) all my life.
Do neither have the ambience ( big garden ) nor approbriate outlook ( whether to stay long term where I am or not ) yet. Other than that, would just love to have some.
There´s a very shy, yet so sweet and intelligent stray dog around my place though, whichs first litter wholy died woefully in the summer heat. And as she has been mating again recently, I suppose her to be giving birth again around mid december.
Plan to dig her a two-chamber "wolf hole", so that her litter might eventually survive this time, with the hole having to be concealed though, so that the retarded dog hunters here won´t find and kill them. - Not easy to do.
I´m all the time trying to see whether her belly is swelling.
That second picture does show us more about what she looks like but that first shows such personality. It looks like you two just discovered a box or something and for you it's not so easy to look at and she is wondering just what the heck it is.
So cutie:) unfortunately i can't get a dog for the little time on my hands but i love them:)) during college i used to have some. One day i'll pick a real friend once again when i can dedicate time and care:)) This is my brother with his good friend Ceaser:)) He can't live without dogs around:))

I think dogs are free of any nationality issues. They are perfect mates.

Hope I didn't rub too much salt into the wound. Sounds like you are well on the road to forgetting her.
I know quite a few nice Americans as well. I know a few sons of bitches, too. Pretty much the same for any culture I have come in contact with. Since I no longer work for a living, I avoid the sons of bitches.
On some forum I frequent (this one?) a guy has a tag line: "I am striving to become the person my dog thinks I am."
That was very good news Simon. She looks sweet. And fast... I bet she´ll need at least 10km a day.... Nimbus is still going strong. He´s a bit quieter now, but he´s still 100% terrier. I cant imagine myself living without a dog. I´m even considering breeding dogs.

Provided one has a big garden available, as should optimally be the case; I imagine it doable to teach your dog to drop feeces exclusively at a dedicated area. ( Conditioned by that "newspaper method" that is being used to teach puppies housebroken.)
I read best material to stuff such a turd pit would be bark scraps. ( Which I wouldn´t know where to find over here, but think usually should be found in European countries, as fuel material.)
- Not to mention, to customers whom you wouldn´t really know how they´ll be treating them?
After all, commonly there seems much too little special knowledge out there. ( Shouting, human conception penalizing and beating, sweets feeding, paw grabbing as "say hello", leaving at home alone, etc.pp.)
We live by a park. I scoop it up into a bag and drop it in the council receptacles provided. She has her routine walks so no need to manage waste in our small back yard.
There are bins that you can bury to recycle dog poo, but our yard is paved.
Luckily the cat is fine with her. He beats her up and yes, a rescue dog is for the best. The local place doesn't put them to sleep though. Some are there for their natural life but they have long queue waiting to get in. Mostly Staffordshire Bull Terriers which yobs use as weapons in the street until they are confiscated or dumped. Makes me really angry.
What many won´t guess; Pitbulls actually are as daring as they are, because of being especially longing for fondness. The more apathetic the owner, the more they will try to catch his attention and go forward for him in order to finally win him over.
But when lived up to they will be the most cuddly and caring fellows one could think of.
Back near Heidelberg, my host had a Pitbul that made me freez when I saw him pop up in the door, first time. Maybe twice as big as common ones and twice as packed with muscles from jaws to tail. This monster looking guy turned out to be such an incredibly dear mate ... And he would even be bitten by a local sheperd dog without turning back on him.
The louse who make weapons of this kind of dogs are taking advantage of their actual character in most despicable ways. -
When will at least advanced countries finally introduce qualifaction for animal keepers.
I have a flamenco dog. Shes been with me 12 years now and although she is going a bit white around the muzzle is full of energy and fun. (shes sleepy here in the patio). This type of dog is an Andalucian podenco. They are very fast runners, smart and easy to train....plus she can sing fandangos when I play guitar!!!

Fantastic dog, you should both enjoy the company. I have a Schnauzer that has more integrity than a lot of people I know. Enjoy and take some more pictures for us.

Yes one out of 25 might be like that... Today, here in Spain, 2 Pitbulls running free on the beach have attacked a woman and were very close to killing her if it wasnt for some other persons comming to help her. They were strongly attacked by the dogs as well but noone died. The two dogs were captured and killed.
There are just way to many storys with these dogs. they are made to fight and kill and thats what they want to do.
