Hello Everyone

Hi All

Just want to introduce myself.

I started flamenco guitar as a hobby when I was in University but I quit because it was interfering with my thesis. My guitar ended up in the attic where it has been sitting for almost 30 years. Yikes - where did all that time go?

Anyways, my interest has recently come back and my guitar is no longer in the attic.

I'm pretty much a beginner.

I can match you account. I gave up the guitar for 20 years and only came back to it recently. I returned to the classical stuff I was learning all those years ago, but found it restricting and so dusted down some old Flamenco CDs and I was soon hooked. The web makes following Flamenco possible in a way that simply didn’t exist 20 years ago. I have had a great time relearning the guitar and a great time following flamenco on the web. I wish you luck.

Just out of interest which flamenco guitarist got you started. Mine was Pepe Martinez followed by Paco Pena. I’m still a fan of them both.

Hi Cavedave

When I was young my dad had something by Carlos Montoya and I kinda liked how it sounded. That's probably what piqued my interest all those years ago.

These days it's Sabicas videos that I go looking for on the web. I wish I had been able to see him play.
