What are the charges for delivery to Germany? Do you have any trouble with customs? Import duties?
I ordered a few accessories from StewMac a while back, and had to go to our local customs office and pay taxes which was a real hassle
I only had to pay one time for taxes. I ordered about 35 Euros and paid 5 Euro taxes. I paid it at the door. Shipping costs to GErmany is 10-14$. Even with shipping costs, taxes its cheaper than anywhere else i have found. But they really need to do something against orders getting lost, thats really bad business... i would order again from them but only via "priority mail", as i have done before; that seems to increase the probability of arrival
I just made my first order with strings by mail, and yes they are fast in shipping, they shipped it 1 day after I placed the order, and now Im waiting for it to arrive. they seem to have a great customer service, I just got this email today:
quote:
Hello Ahmad, Thank you for your order! We are already shipping it out, but were running low on the Luthier Popular Supreme Set 20 - 4th strings. We sent four sets and will send the remaining xxx sets along as soon as our next shipment arrives. There will be no additional shipping charges. I hope this doesn't cause any inconvenience, and apologize if it does. Best regards, John Wunsch
good guess andy,i ordered a bit MORE than 643 . No, they will ship a whole truck to my door LOL ofcourse im being sarcastic here the real answer is xxx=004 so i can live with them being late
they replied back telling me that I should spread the word of how good they are and thanked me for the encouragement im still waiting for my strings though
Hey guys. I am John, that third generation owner at Strings By mail. Scott & his brother Brad, the second generation owners, were my students about 20 years ago & when they wanted to sell I bought. They bought it from Rick Cyr, a student of Brad, so it is a pretty cool pass along from player to player. That is why we are so serious about doing our best for all of you, solving problems, shipping quickly, and getting any product you need that we possibly can.
I want to toss in a few pieces of information regarding this thread. First I want you to know we updated our policy regarding lost & damaged packages about a year ago. This is the current policy.
• Strings By Mail quickly and efficiently makes sure each order is delivered to the chosen shipping agency. We are not able to control what happens to packages once they are in the shipping system, however we will always strive to be of assistance to the best of our ability.
We do the best we can by getting everything out in 24 hours (except over a Sunday), the rest is unfortunately dependent on the system, but it seems to usually work out very well.
And then a personal note to the two of you who never received your package. We were not aware of that, we always hope to hear from our customers about any problem. Please email us, info@stringsbymail.com, so we can work with you to take care of that problem.
