RE: Diego del Morao new CD out ! ? (in reply to Doitsujin)
I've got the first track already as a download single, it's great but that's just my opinion! Diego El Cigala is singing and he's very good on it. The playing and production are both very strong- it's reaching my heart- no disappointment so far!

I expect this is not an official youtube post? If not it's sad. The market for flamenco is already tiny. I hope that the artists get all the money coming to them from people who like what they do, by people actually buying their records.

I will aslo buy it. But it is still not on amazon. Are there serious online shops in europe where I could buy and get it fast? I heard bad storie about flamenco-world.com

There are many "promo" tracks now on youtube, with samples. The track above is actually not all new material. Its also on Amparo from Picasso en mi ojos or something.

Yes you are right and this can help to sell records. I try to avoid expressing my opinions too much on the foro but I dont like it when people don't value artists, imagine how rubbish life would be without art? Unbearable if you ask me.
PS On your thread did that rasgeo explaination help you Deniz or was I making no sense?

I hope you're right but so far it seems that there are 4 tracks on youtube and all of them are full length I dunno

Check it out here: www.flamencobiennale.nl (and then to 'Workshops') It's still only in Dutch but I bet you can still get some info :)
140E for a few falsetitas Diego could teach in that short time?? (In general a fair price coz Diego is one of the grestest. I would pay that happily, but I´m not interestedbecause of the following reason:
The problem of these workshops are always that people of the wrong level are present.. You spend very much money to learn fancy stuff in a short time and then there are sitting 1-2 morons in the class with a western guitar and plectrum, wondering that flamenco works differently and slow down the entire class to absolute beginners level coz they cant hold an Fmajor. And you go home with 1 remate and 1 chord progression.
Sorry. Including hotel + train costs...I can´t go there. But it would be very nice with a proper price measured with the level of these funny guys who somehow always appear. So..let me in for free and we have a deal.

a funny thing i noticed : for the father they "selected highly advanced guitarists" for the son skills are "advanced (min. 5 years experience)"
IMO it's upside down. You certainly need more technikal skills to digest what Diego will teach. Moraito will propably show some basic pulgar stuff...and grooving strumming.

I don't think so. It is common error to assume Moraito is "easy" or "not technical" playing. He is quite advanced with a clean sound and more power even in his arpegios then Diego IMO. I think Diego has some tricky rhythms but just playing a synchopated rhythm does not mean you need an advanced technique or understanding of flamenco. Perhaps Moraito will focus on accompaniment issues that only concern working pros. Just a thought.

yeah but here we set up beginner challenges with his stuff Is a beginner challenge possible to organize with some Diego's falseta or sonikete?

Yeah...totally amazes me..
I sometimes get the impression that folk here judge "difficulty" on tricky fingering, chord changes and fast picado etc.
Wow...you could NOT be so wrong IMO...
Even to get a modestly good Flamenco tone, attack and "sound" on the most basic stuff takes one helluva lot of listening and practise IMO, without even considering LH stuff.
Moraito is a MASTER Flamenco player...make NO mistake.
He is LIGHT YEARS away from "beginner's stuff"

That is exactly the state of art in nuevo flamenco. They have good tone and some also good attack but you know yourself, without techniques you dont come far in flamenco. These nuevo flamenco guys suck. Even with good tone and attack. Dont underestimate techniques.

Well, because it's a challenge, Doit....entrants are allowed to miss out the rhythm guitar part playing chords in the background and just post the main part if they want.
Definitely not beginner's stuff though, sorta more of an Intermediate challenge IMO.

Right. Thats intermediate. Well,..gerardos part is more advanced. But it sounds crazyer than it actually is. Hmm.. I dont like that combination of both tangos...
