saying goodbye to my pinky nail
as an experiment, i decided to see how long i could grow my pinky nail. i got to 9.5 mm before i grossed myself out and got sick of people looking at me like i do a lot of drugs.

I use my pinky for tremolo so it's a little longer than you have yours in the last pic.
whoa, that's interesting! do you grow your pinyk nail a little longer than your other fingernails to compensate for it's length? do you do tremolos with i,a,m,i as well? which one do you like more?

out of curiosity, i looked up "meaning of long pinky nail" the top explanations were 1. for cocaine 2. for cocaine 3. for cocaine 4. to pick your nose 5. for good luck 6. to pick your ears 7. you've been in jail (huh?) 8. for sex (huh?) 9. for cocaine 10. to open letters

I haven't had any need to grow the pinky nail longer than the other nails for tremolo because the fingers curl and the finger length pretty much evens out as a result. I practice piami but it doesn't flow well for me. I really like pqami for tremolo. I've seen vids of Adam Del Monte with a long pinky nail though I'm not sure what he does with it.

I checked the pictures... yes you definitely had to cut it off. It looked horrible. And for the pinky you wont need any protection, so let this off as well and your set.

I said goodbye to my right thumbnail in March last year, but that had more to do with an extremely large hammer than aesthetics . . . That grossed everybody out
The new nail finally crept past the fleshy part of my thumb at New Year, and has only recently been usable for guitar.
If anybody wonders how I managed to hit my right thumb with a FBH, I'm left-handed :-)

not only did it look horrible, it felt horrible! every time i made a fist, it felt like a bird was biting my palm.

Sorry man...but EURGH! thats looks nasty. looks like some wizrads nail from a fantasy tale!....a wizard that does a lot of coke!
Did you grow that or is it stuck on...it looks like theres a join in the third pic!
My little finger has a very samll amount of nail as I rarely use it apart from the odd rasgueado
ps. "pinky" Eurgh! even the word makes me feel a bit queasy... why do you guys call it that???
it's 100% natural! i have no idea why we call it pinky. it sounds a bit wimpy to me. definitely not macho enough for a drug dealing wizard.

I use the e finger or "chiquito" for some rasguados quite often. Anyway I decided once to cut the nail off for no particular reason, and noticed right away some of my golpes were not as bright. So I actually use the pinky in conjunction with A finger for some golpes. I have never cut it since, but I file it short like the others.

i gave this a try and it felt really awkward. are you using flesh/nail with the e finger or just nail only?
