Royal Classics Strings

Hello

Has anyone used the Royal Classic Strings? I checked them on stringsbymail.com and the description says that already pre-streched. I wonder if these ones are nicer than Luthier or La Bella's B20. I know that more expensive than others.

Just check them out:

Used?????

I'm not sure if that description is a good thing or a bad thing...If they have been stretched already (how?) then that is going to affect the tone and consistency of the string. Personally I'm happy to leave the new set on overnight to play next day.

lol

I know that they're too expensive. I just wondering if these strings worth the price or not!

$19 for a set of "pre stretched" strings vs $10 for a set of new D'addarios.....hmmm

The exact description:

"A high quality string manufactured in Spain for over 30 years under the direction of Sr. Juan Grecos. All strings have been "pre-stretched" which allows the strings to settle in faster. The bridge side of each string has been heated to create a small ball of nylon which helps prevent string slippage"

I know that it sounds weird but maybe is something different than all we know!

i don't think it's worth it to pay extra money when it only takes less than a day for new strings to settle. and as for the melted ball ends, it's unnecessary but if you really want it, then you can do it yourself with a lighter.

if your strings are taking too long to settle, you might be leaving an excessive amount of strings at the tuners.

choose strings for how they sound!

Since necro posting is a trend these days here I am to contribute

I will be trying some RC strings and posting them here for archive purposes. This specific set has a new bass set as I can understand with the nylon trebles of their 'sonata' set that is already their workhorse as I assume.

Guitar: Vassilis Lazarides flamenco blanca

0:00 Recuerdos de la Alhambra (F. Tárrega)
3:01 Lagrima (F. Tárrega)
4:19 Adelita (F. Tárrega)
5:16 Verano Porteño (A.Piazzolla)
6:48 Asturias (Leyenda) (Isaac Albéniz)
10:18 Prelude No.5 (H. Villa-Lobos)
14:11 Prelude No.1 (H. Villa-Lobos)
17:49 Etude No.11 (H. Vila-Lobos)
20:54 Variations on a theme by Mozart (Fernando Sor)
24:10 Gnossienne No.1 (Erik Satie)
25:44 Capricho Arabe (F. Tárrega)
28:05 Solea (Sabicas)
30:40 Tango falseta (Jerónimo Maya)
32:47 Simple buleria compas
35:40 Guajiras de Lucia (Paco de Lucia)
37:55 Partita B.W.V. 1006 (J.S.Bach)

This set has some very impressive, profound and strong basses and is really fast to play. This normal tension feels harder than the EJ45 and close to the feel of tension of the Savarez normal tension. If you want the EJ45 feel of tension, RC has this set also in medium tension, calling it MT

Don’t laugh, but I’ve been weaning my self off Apple Music and to get me flamenco music fix in the shop I’ve been playing your long utube vidoes over and over.

Dear Lord. Now I have to actually have at least a warm up before recording. I always record in the free time between doing the dishes and cooking for the family No, I am not laughing.

I am happy actually because after all these years some guys at delcamp called ME a flamenco player and definitely not a proper classical player and this is for real a compliment.. but then again they do not really know flamenco so now I have failed both worlds

Here is the RC Dynamic White. This set is very well balanced and projecting. This normal tension feels just a bit stiffer than the EJ45 because of the stiffer white nylon of the trebles. Worth a try for sure. The best for flamenco is the sonata light though that I will post in a few days. Cheers!

Here is my last RC strings comparison for now. Sonata Light which says medium tension. It is actually in the numbers of La Bella 427, so quite easy to play. Not the same nylon as the 427, maybe closer to the EJ45 (not the same of course). Versatile and nice for flamenco too.
