Often people post asking for the tabs for an audio track, this is the other way round.
i came across some tabs on the net for some falsetas by guitarists taken from recordings of singers. There are some of PDL, some of EDM (Enrique De Melchor), and some of Juan and Pepe Habichuela
The PDL falsetas are all from the recording he did with Fosforito, the EDM falsetas are mostly from recordings with Jose Menese, some with Jose Merce, and some with Luis De Cordoba.
No problems so far.... but the Pepe Habichuela falsetas are a bit trickier. Some are from the Enrique Morente album "Homenaje A Don Antonio Chacon", and some are from Carmen Linares "Su Cante". I have found 2 tracks by Manuel Gerena on "Cultura Jonda 15. Un Compromiso", but no idea of the rest.
I have tried searching the song titles, but found nothing.
Can anyone help with the following tracks, singer, album etc.? NB. Pepe Habichuela guitar on all tracks:

Well, i have looked at it, but i haven't been through each album song by song.... there are quite a lot of them! i guess that is my next step...
it would be great to have a discography with a massive list of every flamenco release including guitarist info.... often lists of singers albums don't list the guitarist.
also when you check a discography of a guitarist, say Pepe Habichuela or Enrique De Melchor, it only lists the solo albums, not the countless albums they have played on as accompanist - this would be a real treasure of a resource!
those songs i listed probably all come from 1 or 2 albums, probably recorded in the late seventies or the eighties, with Pepe Habichuela on guitar - someone must have this or these albums!
incidentally, Norman, do you know if that page of letras is part of a bigger website, that maybe has more resources?

Pepe recorded with Juan Cantero (one of Extremadura's best singers, by the way, in relation to another thread) and Manuel Gerena, among others. I looked for those recordings last night but couldn't find them; will let you know if they turn up.
As far as I know, that's all there is to the site. Apparently, he reads this forum, so maybe he could tell us a bit about his site
that would be great if he posted something about the site etc., i'd like the chance to thank him for putting the info up, i have found it really useful - i could ask him if he knows these mystery songs too!

This was done with Enrique Morente in the 70s. I don't know if there's a disc, but there's a black and white TVE video on Youtube. The title isn't given, but you'll recognize the falsetas.
[Later edit:] Found it; it's not the same one that Worms transcribed from, but that day's versions of those falsetas can be heard at 1:45. Complete with Picasso-esque stage set!

Yeh, I hadn't noticed Mi Barca. Unless it's a coincidence, Juan recorded that in 1962, I think, with Caracol, as you said. I was hoping you'd jump in on this, as you seem to be a "bean" authority!
There are many, many recordings from not too long ago that we'll never hear. Of course, I'm hoping that I'm wrong about that, but even modern players like Gerardo and Riqueni have some hard-to-find recordings. I've got a bunch of low-profile cassettes (including El Chocolate's all-time best recording, which I've never seen anywhere else): unassuming looking items that you might have found 15-20 years ago on display in one of those revolving racks in a roadside diner or service station (in Albacete...) I bought them when I was living in an even more unassuming-looking apartment (I probably didn't look too good, either ). As poor as a church mouse, but I'd scrape together a few hundred pesetas every week (a handful of coins) and buy a cassette or two. Sorry, not trying to wax nostalgic, it's just that there have been an awful lot of recordings made over the years and it's nearly impossible to track down all of them. In 78 rpm recordings alone, there are easily over 5,000. Researchers like Blas Vega and Norberto Torres state flat out that they're not able to draw many conclusions because they don't know how many more recordings are out there.
So just imagine how many vinyl recordings must have been made. For example, anyone ever heard of the recording that Manolo Sanlúcar did with Terremoto? They say that Manolo even made a recording with Pastora Pavón, and he confirms the story in his autobiography.
i knew the transcriptions were by Claude Worms, but didn't know the website with them on was his? There's loads of classical stuff in the menu, vocal, instrumental, and some jazz too.
I was thinking if i could find a contact email or something for Claude Worms i could ask him the sources of the transcriptions, but thought it would be a bit cheeky to ask "i found this website giving a way your work, where did you transcribe it from?" - but if it's his website and he's giving it away himself maybe it's not so bad.... but i haven't seen a contact address or anything.

i looked this up, and found the track to download from 7digital, but the spanish website wouldn't let me download in the UK, and the Uk website doesn't have it...
never mind, i got plenty of stuff to listen to learn and play anyway!
That's what I was wondering. If the site isn't Claude's and is giving away his work, that's not right. It should at least be pointed out to him.

I don't know any of these tracks. The titles don't sound like traditional verses. They sound like something that could be sung by Menese, Morente, Gerena or Diego Clavel, that kind of singers.
Yo don't need to check my page song by song. Searching in google something like "En sueños lo oi decir" www.telefonica.net/web2/flamencoletras is enough

well.... i looked at that and i thought to myself, "what the hell are these guys on about?" and "why are you telling me the mp3 was "in Spanish though" (like, of course it will be in spanish, what do you mean?)" and then.... very slowly.... the penny started to drop through the treacle-like grey sludge that i now realise must be all that's between my ears.... and silently ker-plonked at the bottom!

I second that. Excellent website, Rafael!!! What do you think about adding information such as format (tape, CD, etc.), year of recording, guitarist (or singer, on some anthologies)?
The truth is that I almost had forgotten about the letras site.
I read this forum once in a while, although only the topics related to cante. In the last years I have been listening less and less flamenco. It's like lately there is nothing new that interests me. I think that I don't have any CD recorded after 2001.
Anybody interested can copy the letras into their own site and add any information, or link to my page.
Mark. I am glad the is useful to anybody. If you like cante you will enjoy, besides Norman site, the two books by Luis Soler Guevara and Ramón Soler Díaz on Antonio Mairena and another book, I think by Pierre Leblanc , on cante.
