For starters, my apologies for breaking decorum. As you have guessed by now, I am new here. I've been studiously reading the forum for about 3 weeks now. Unfortunately, as soon as I click on New post or reply to a post, a security setting that I obviously need to change logs me out and I'm in as a guest. As guest, I'm exlcuded from the tabs forum. I was actually shocked that I managed to pull off posting anything as I have been trying to do so for the last week. Apologies again for the post replying to my post, but I can't seem to get it done properly. If anybody knows how to fix this little issue, I'd love to know the solution (sorry, fishing for free advice right off the bat again)
I have googled extensively looking for the right piece to start with, but I'm looking for a good one. Unfortunately, Google isn't yet smart enough to filter out music way beyond my level and outside of my musical taste. I thought I would appeal to the folks on here since you all know a great deal more than I do and probably spent a lot of time working to get where you are now. Perhaps I should have asked what you have fond memories of playing in your beginner days. I'd be willing to try anything you guys have to suggest. I just though a rumba (or similar) would be an easy starting point.
There are no easy "pieces" that are true flamenco. A flamenco guitar "piece" is made up of short musical sections called "falsetas"...mixed up with compas or rhythm strumming. So the way to begin learning is with just with ONE or TWO basic falsetas, and you improvise them or connect them together with compas strumming patterns you have learned. From there you simply pick up or learn new falsetas for that song form (say Solea as mentioned)....FOREVER.
