help identifying these tuning machines

I really like these tuning machines but have no idea what company makes them. Can anyone identify them?

My conde came with these tuners also. They work well and feel smooth but the plate is very thick and heavy. I ended up replacing them for this reason.

These are on my conde negra which is heavy so the thick plate doesn't bother me

Hi Guiro, My conde is heavy also. I was curios about the effect that these tuners were having on the sound of my guitar so I tried swapping them with the tuners on my maldonado. I was surprised by the difference the swap made to both guitars. The lighter machine heads added significant warmth to the conde sound and removed some of the brittleness.

After playing the guitar like that for a few months i swapped the tuners back to see if my findings made sense a second time. The heavy plates and stainless steel barrels instantly changed the way the guitar was responding and within a few days i went back to the lighter plates again.

I just thought i would share this with you incase you are interested in experimenting yourself. The heavier plates have enhanced the sound IMO on my maldonado so it all kind of worked out for me..

I weighed a set of Gotoh 35G510P they're fairly average weight; 78g
compared to Rubner; 74g
fustero 202/A; 78g
DJ; 84g
Gotoh 35G1600; 80g

Kris it may be that yours have the aluminium post, which would make them even lighter. Perhaps it's the aluminium that effected the sound of your Conde negatively and the Maldonado positively?

What type were the lighter ones that worked for the Conde?

I would recommend Gotoh 35G510P they are very smooth and accurate, I like the way they look; no lyre!

Here's a link to a Gotoh catalogue for anyone interested;

thanks, I may have to experiment. I never gave much thought to the tuners affecting the sound before.

Me neither, I'm shallow, I mainly care what they look like!

Hi Orsow, Yes the aluminium has a noticeable effect to my ears. Makes sense considering they are directly in contact with the strings. I'm not sure regarding the brand name of the lighter tuners but they look quite cheap and standard. They are significantly lighter though but not very smooth at all.
