Doit,

Just keep Rudyard Kipling's dictum in mind: "A woman is just a woman, but a cigar is a good smoke!" Salve your wounds with a good Cohiba.

Cheers,

Bill

Ricardo hit me up the other day - I'm in. I just dropped the paypal deposit. I haven't played for **** lately, but as long as there are a lotta folks bangin on guitars and plenty to drink, I'll be all set. Ricardo knows me...he wouldn't invite me out unless he knew we would have a blast.
See y'all in April.

Unfortunately no. I won't be able to make it this spring. And yes, it would have been nice to meet again [:)]

I'll be on early retirement as of August, so then: Hello World![:D]

When does that happen? Thi winter. Im sorry,..if anybody cares. I´ll sell my guitars eventually.. good for you though... Anyway. I wont be at that bootcamp if I dont cure myself.. I dont know..

Had the same problem so many times in my life. The one thing I stuck with was the guitar, and good thing cuz playing it guarenteed me much hotter and nicer and everything else you can imagine women along the way, while healing the wounds of the past. stick with your true wife the guitar till you die man. Don't ever let chicks get jealous of your guitar either, believe me they will. IN the end if you play with heart you will be fighting off women you don't want with a stick. Trust me.

This sounds good to me! As far as I know, time-wise I am fine for both March and July. £390 is a pretty damn good deal for a broke ass chick like myself, when are we thinking of paying for this? I'll probably start saving come next payday (If I get decent hours this month) and probably start selling some unwanted junk on Ebay. It might not be entirely possible since I have a few things in the works still to pay for, but I'll keep checking the page for updates!

Hey Simon, I am definitely interested. But one question though, my field of work can require me to postpone vacations at short notice, so if close to the date I can't make it can you get the deposit back?

Tricky. Deposits are non-refundable after we have committed to the accommodation, which should be in the next few weeks or else the whole plan will be in doubt.

The balance would be due by February 1st 2012 and cannot be refunded, unless we can find someone to take your place.

Thank you for the words my friends. Im really ****ed up big time. Sorry for posting my personal crap here... Im sorry.

Its very much OK to post personal crap on the foro. You´re not the first to do so. For me it was a possitive experience to post personal crap and it helped me getting through som very difficult days[;)]
But maybe it would be a good idea to make a seperate thread and not doing it on this thread.

are you freaking insane [&:]...this is when u should be playing your little arse off buddy (for one thing keeps your mind off things and turns something that is bad, useless period into something that might potentially be useful)...use it to drive you to do something with it, u play too good to quit, spent too much of your life studying it to just let it waste (take a brake if u need too sure, i understand that, we all need it sometime... but dont sell both guitars, you will regret it)...besides ...if u looking to meet another...haven't meet a girl who dosent at least give you a second look when she hears you play flamenco, it wont hurt...besides you not THAT funny and dont have THAT much personality...use what u have :-))) jk!...do exactly the opposite of what u planning to do...its good advice for everything, curing your heart, future lovelife and your general happiness...hope u seriously reconsider

take the time, go to Spain if u can, hang out with friends, do flamenco, drink etc...its EXACTLy what u need and u need it more than anyone else here..

sorry , i know this dosent belong on this thread but it would not make sense to answer it anywhere else..and it is quite urgent and alarming Doit would even consider it, hope someone washes his mouth out with soap...u not going anywhere dude ...resignation not accepted

1. I suppose you refer to a girlfriend “dumping” you. As I wrote before, my advice in these unpleasant yet frequent incidents of life, is to be a dash cynical; remember that it is all about you, and anyone else who joins you on your personal journey is only an accessory. Bur depending on others, is a state of perpetual infancy, and however painful it may be, we all must grow out of it and learn to love ourselves before we love anyone else.
2. Now why should you punish yourself? Playing guitar is one of the most defining passions of your being. This type of self inflicted injury, romantic as it may sound, is again quite juvenile. 20 years from now, when you will run into the by-then-wrinkled-up and faded girlfriend who has you on your knees now, you will blush, embarrassed that at one time you would have died for her. Do not die for anyone, live for yourself!!
3. Taking the strict vows of a secluded monastic life would preserve the sadness of this moment for the rest of your days. And why would you want to do that? Your past is what makes you the way you are, and to me you are a wonderful human being, and I beg you not to change anything.
4. I do care, and am sure many others do here.
5. If you think about it logically –as one may reasonably expect of your scientific mind- why would you renounce the company of many people who love you (the members here) because one who does not love you denies you her society?

Dear friend, you are and have in yourself much more than what you think any girlfriend adds. Nothing of yourself has been taken, but a weight lifted, and personal freedom restored. Why is it that (with Fyodor Dostoevsky) that when “man is free he painfully longs for someone to worship” (?). Cherish your own beauty and talent, because that is the sole happiness no thief can steal, no girlfriend can sequester, no one else can give to you.

Chin up, and (if you really need to change anything), re-string your guitar.

That would make a nice signature.
Whenever there is something important to be discussed, you get in with a dead on statement and end the discussion once and for all, GJ[:D]. Re-string that guitar, Doit!

Thank you Dararith and Bursche. I may actually make a mantra of that metaphor, something we can relate to, "re-string yourself anew"

Ricardo, I hope you were not teasing (or only partially) because I like the "Foro Giacomo" idea; perhaps i should propose to Simon that I hold my own court, with a personal blog and a degree of icense on the subjects I would address, as the emotional, human and (why not) fashion side of musicianship.

estebanana -> RE: Ron's Boot Camp - Andalucía 2013 (Oct. 11 2012 2:02:19)

So you're saying Foro Giacomo would really focus in on Flamenco Hair styles? Versace Compas? [:D]

I am sad and disappointed by your mockingly provocative remark, Stephen. I will try to excuse it as a generic want of knowledge (or cheap gin) but there are in fact (unknown to you) very prestigious fashion houses in Spain, such as … “Balenciaga” or “Custo Barcellona”

I hazard the simple theory that the Fashion classics of Spain are not less valuable to the country's cultural treasure than those set by Spain’s flamenco tradition.

All cultural manifestations are important. Together, taken as a whole, they form the intricate complex of a people’s culture. Each can benefit from or explain the other; each is the raucous voice of a different revolution, each establishes traditions and standards, each has a rich history etched with the name of its talented artists, each essayed by the vicissitudes of the rugged lives it narrates to those who can listen with their soul, beyond the glitter of labels, be it Conde Hermanos or Balenciaga.

I think Stephen was just having fun with the idea and didn't mean any offense.

I took your statement differently. Did you mean what you wear while you play, or how certain techniques and palos go in and out of fashion? I assumed the latter when I read it......

Sold [:D] The fashion side of indy music (when I was gigging) was very important - as dull and wrecked as possible. As a band, we made a point of not dressing up and sometimes would climb on stage from the audience or the bar [;)]. As I had a serious day job at the time, I would often be in my suit and overcoat.

Curiously enough and on a slightly confessional note, I used to hoard my mothers French Vouge magazines in my bedroom. When a nosy neighbor lady expressed concern that those magazines might be contributing to turning a "queer" influence on me, my mom told her she was pretty sure that's not why I was looking at them. (Not that there is anything wrong with being queer either.) I was actually too polite to bring girly magazines into the house and horrified my mother would find them. My mom and I had the silent understanding that I could enjoy all kinds of things about the beautiful half naked women in Vouge. I always looked forward to the Vouge issues in the 1970's where skinny models were spilling delectable tiny titties out of hot Spanish evening wear.

[:D][:D][:D]

I took my wife along on a business trip to Paris when our son was about 14. As we were on our expedition to buy gifts for the people back home, she stopped at a large sidewalk news kiosk and asked, "Which is the best French skin magazine?"

"I have no idea," I replied. Truthfully, I might add. At age 40 she was still slender and quite appealing. I preferred actual skin to skin photography.

"Well, let's have a look, and you tell me which is best."

We did, and she bought one that had high quality photos of beautiful and classy models, showing the maximum amount.

At last I said, "May I ask why you are buying that?"

"I came across M's stack of Playboys, somewhat concealed. This is my Paris present to him."
