Hey Doit, I havn´t heard your playing, but you must be advanced. Trascient art ( or how would it be called in English) never seemed of sense to me. Either it was trash from start like Beuys´tripe or it was a pity to fade. Advanced musicians quitting for good, makes the latter "pity category" to me. All that dedication and achievement to become dust in the wind. ... And the beauty of sonics produced; couldn´t it touch you anymore? Maybe I´m wrong, but can´t see how dismissing such achievement could yield productive with restarting life. - Besides: I guess lucky are the ones with women at their side who really appreciate the finer art of sound production. Curiously though I have seen more advanced guitarists whose girl friends were numb for the art, than the other way around. ( Eventhough, more often than not the acquaintance must have started with her as admiring groupie after a gig, or so. - Which can eventually be triggered by social status in place of musical merrits, for gigging musicians are often well known in their quarter after all.) Having been lucky in that respect with some girl friends, I believe that a pleasure-lover can be just as supporting to your passion as a dumb cohabitant on the other hand can be a groove killer. Should you possibly have fallen to a latter kind, like to an unaffected child of crap music ( grown up with rap / techno), she might have been a wrong choice, not your guitar. For chances are that she´ll be frigid in other respects of vibe too. I think. Just my 2 cents. Ruphus
