Mike_Kinny -> Flamenco world shop (Aug. 13 2010 11:45:49)

Dear all,

Has anybody bought anything from them? Are they legitimate?

I ordered some books from them 2nd August. They state on their website that the tracking number will be emailed.

I have not heard anything from them since, though I have emailed them twice.

Leendert -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 15 2010 3:17:26)

Hello Mike...
I have ordered once or twice from them and received my items fairly quickly.
Never had any problems....maybe it`s still on it`s way somewhere...
Good luck! :)

KMMI77 -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 15 2010 8:59:50)

My friends and i have ordered things through flamenco world and never had any problems. Im sure they will sort out any problems for you.

kozz -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 15 2010 11:32:42)

Hee Mike,
I am experiencing the same problem now, but perhaps it is vacation time overthere.
Never had any problems with ordering before.

Thanks, at least I'm not the only one [:D]

I've ordered with them many times and they've been very efficient except on one occasion when some thing wasn't in stock. They didn't reply to my emails or let me know just silence and a delivery weeks late.

I'm sure their intention was to notify you but always found maƱana a more suitable time to do so. [:D]

mark indigo -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 16 2010 10:18:25)

i have also ordered from them many times and usually they are very quick and reliable.

Only once an item wasn't in stock, they took the money for it and said they would send it when it came in stock.

after several months, and after their website showed it was in stock again i emailed them asking for the cd or the money back and eventually they sent the cd.

Mike_Kinny -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 16 2010 15:00:15)

I'm tempted to initiate a charge-back. IMO they should treat their customers who feed them with some respect.

Lucerom -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 16 2010 18:56:31)

Buyer Beware

They used to have good customer service, but it seems like they have a supply chain issue now. I ordered $175 worth of material from them on July 6th, it is now Aug 16th and I still haven't received my order or any feedback from them and I have been emailing them every day over the past 2 weeks.

I also ordered $500 worth of material from them in early May and didn't receive anything from them until July because they said one of the books was on backorder and they would send my shipment out once it arrived. It all finally came after waiting patiently for 2 months. I didn't like the fact that I was paying credit card interest charges for a purchase that wasn't even in my possession.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and they failed me twice. I won't be ordering from them again.

I got so angry rereading this post that I decided to contact my credit card company to initiate a charge back.

mark indigo -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 16 2010 21:04:03)

what's a "charge back"?

Lucerom -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 16 2010 21:33:49)

I was going to explain in my own words but this link does a better job. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chargeback

Basically, you request that your bank refund your money and reverse a transaction because the other party did not satisfy it's obligations. In my case, Flamenco-world did not ship my products within the time frame stated on their website AND they have not responded to any of the 12+ emails that I sent them requesting a status update on my order.

Mike_Kinny -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 16 2010 21:41:27)

Assuming you are not kidding me, charge-back is when you ask your credit card issuing bank to take the money back from the seller.

Charge-backs are bad for a business since, besides the one time charge-back fee that they must pay (about $10), it increases the handling fee that their credit card processing company charges them. As many charge-backs as higher the fee they have to pay the credit card processing company on each sale.

Lucerom -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 16 2010 22:07:29)

Unfortunately Mike I am not kidding.

While I do feel bad for the seller they did have several opportunities to respond to my emails. All I asked for was a status update on my order and they provided no information. Meanwhile, my credit card company has been charing me interest that the seller could care less about.

While charge backs are bad for business so is poor customer service. And... this post tells me that I'm not the only one who has lost faith in Flamenco-World. It's too bad because I really their website, variety of products, pricing and promotions.

Note: I also ordered from esflamenco.com the same day as my last Flamenco-World order. I received my shipment from esflamenco.com in 4 business days (just as described on their website). Up until my charge back request today... I have been still waiting for my order from Flamenco-World wondering if my order got lost in some black whole.

I hope Flamenco-World understands that they do have competition with similar pricing and products. That's another thing... a couple years ago Flamenco-World used to throw in some really cool post cards of flamenco singers, dancers, and guitar players with every order. That was such a nice bonus. They stopped doing that.

xirdneH_imiJ -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 16 2010 22:51:35)

about 3-4 months ago they had a promotion on Facebook and offered t-shirts for 5 winners, i was one of them, and i'm yet to recieve anything...i emailed them once about it, no reply...

keith -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 17 2010 1:01:43)

Mike Kinny: I have never ordered from them but if you ordered using your credit card you can stop the transaction and get your money back. I have done so with American Express on a few occasions--same issue, slow service and no communication despite e-mails. There is no charge with American Express and I suspect the same is for other companies. PayPal is a different story though.

There is a superb company in the states, Flamenco Connection, that will drain your bank account super fast--they have a boat load of c.d., d.v.d, and other products. Check them out. I have purchased from them and they are quick and reliable--and one does not have to pay overseas shipping and import related taxes (assuming you live in the states).

Lucerom -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 17 2010 3:59:04)

I too have ordered from Flamenco Connection before on several occasions. Keith is correct that they are very reliable and will drain your bank account quickly. Their prices are OUTRAGEOUS.

For example, their pricing on the Encuentro series is $119 plus $5 shipping. That's right $124 for one book and one DVD. It's as if they are purchasing their items from Flamenco-world and then tacking on an additional $50. So when you purchase from Flamenco Connection are in fact paying the international fees indirectly.

Mike_Kinny -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 17 2010 9:11:03)

To give them a clear message I have now initiated a charge-back.

I posted a complaint on their Facebook wall.
I think it's a good idea if everybody does the same.

Lucerom -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 17 2010 14:00:14)

Well, I tried to post a complaint on their Facebook page. It was displayed for like 2 seconds and then it disappeared. WTF???

keith -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 17 2010 22:40:47)

Lucerom, yes Flamenco Connection can be pricey but the selection is awesome.

From the UK I usually now order from Deflamenco in Spain.

Their prices are the same or often cheaper than Flamenco-world (sometimes the item price is same or even slightly more expensive, but when you add in shipping it works out cheaper).

I have found them (so far) to be reliable, even though their website is a bit random sometimes.

john guitar -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 18 2010 13:03:58)

Flamenco-world.com again today have eliminated many negative messages in the facebook page

Web 2.0 doesn't go with them, no longer know what to do to cover up the damage

Lucerom -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 18 2010 14:07:50)

Yep, the negative feedback I posted on Facebook yesterday has been removed. However, I just received an automated message this morning from Flamenco-World letting me know that my order has now been shipped.

Now I have to wait for the order to arrive and then cancel my charge back. Bitter sweet. If Flamenco-World were to send me a personalized message apologizing for not responding to my emails perhaps they would still have a loyal customer of 11 years. However, I don't believe they will do the right thing, so I will shift my loyalty to Esflamenco and Deflamenco.

Yes but mine is still there. [:D]

By the way they were quick to respond to PayPal dispute.
They responded with a "Thank you for contacting us." sentence [:D] and said that the item is out of stock and will be shipped next month. Their website doesn't say the item is out of stock though.

I told them to refund me.

There's also El Flamenco Vive:
http://www.elflamencovive.es/

I've been to their shop in Madrid a few times and have also bought from them online. So far no problems.

angie -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 19 2010 5:24:16)

so ****ty [edited by Admin - the language filter is there for a reason]

only shopping news in magazine, expensive prices, bad service, no answers...

the name could be Flamenco-****ty.com or Flamenco-Lousy.com

orsonw -> RE: Flamenco world shop (Aug. 19 2010 8:26:02)

I'm sad that the flamenco world site seems to have lost it's way. I was always impressed with their service in the past but something seems to have changed.

I still find their magazine good, great interviews and news.
