Flamenco Master Program

Sadly,I've finally decided to do away with the Buy Direct option for the program, since it's getting to be a bit of a chore now constantly answering enquiries about whether I can take credit cards or send out CD Roms etc for the direct price option, even though I explained in detail why this was not possible due to UK Bank charges.
The idea had been initially, to save UK folk a few bob by sending a UK Bank cheque directly to my address, rather than going through an American download service at the extra cost.
Also, I offered a free download service to Flamenco enthusiasts living in countries where it is difficult to get foreign exchange or the wage rate is particularly low.
For this I asked for a simple "snail mail" letter or postcard to confirm the country of origin.
But unfortunately I still receive "poorflamencoguy@hotmail.com" emails from folk wishing to save their dough to buy an extra beer LOL!
Obviously I don't blame them for chancing their hand, but I'm just getting a bit tired of it now.
Just thought I'd post this in case some folk think I'm some sort of money grabbing meannie!

cheers

Ron

Hmmm...you mean the ones with the fancy leather jackets?
Afraid, I've not got around to doing it in mac or betamax or 8 track yet.

Ron,

I live in Oregon. People that live in New York think I live in a different country. They think we still have gun fights and plow our fields with horses, so do I get a free copy? LOL

That's funny Pat. Some folks think the same of us Texans. We still have gun fights. They're just not at high noon or over a game of poker anymore.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go pump some water from the well. Bath night.

Ron,

I bought flam master 2 years ago, and found it extremely cheap. Has there been any upgrades, news etc.
And please give me the webpage.

Thanks Anders!
RegNet was taken over by a new company and they now can provide a CD Rom version as well as an internet download.
I tried to keep the program fairly basic and easy to use and although it can be used as a "poor man's" backing track, it was really just intended to be a fun practise metronome.
I had a very much more ambitious plan for a fully programmable, multi channel, high quality version with Jaleo etc which would have sounded very life like, but that would have involved mucho programming and the professional version of VB, and considering the very small market for such a product I came to the conclusion that I could use my limited free time better practising guitar instead! LOL.
The next project I'd had in mind was a "Slowdown" program, but a couple of guys beat me to it with a program called "SlowBlast".
I'm not a professional programmer, so it was an interesting one-off experience for me and also a chance to find out more about the technical side of the Internet, but I'm afraid I've hung up my programming gloves now and leave programming to the experts while I concentrate on practising my own compás!

By the way, the site is www.guitartechnique.com

cheers

That multi channel program would have been awesome, I find with the Compas CD's are great with trad style but with more complex stuff it is difficult to follow, how great it would be to have a visual cue as to were the beats were located, eventually playing by feel, I have tried putting FM along side the compas CD but they go out of sync, the only other way would be to double track the compas CD with a track of you audibly counting out the beats, but it gets messy, still I agree that the beauty of FM is its simplicity of use, and is an awesome program for what it is.

To get those multichannel timings right you would be using C or Assembler.

Sorry the market is too small How does the Graf-Martinez metronome stand up against FM?

I looked at it last a couple of years ago and I seem to remember the presentation being really nice. I'm not sure if it just produces clicks on the beat or not though?
I think there is a free demonstration download on the site.

cheers

He gave me a free key so I might check it out but I hate practising in front of the computer.

Simon,
practising in front of the computer is great! You can use your amazing slowdowner, play along with CDs, use the compas CDs, use the Flamenco Master if you don't have a Mac like I do. The other great invention in the history of the guitar is the mirror. Everyone should practice in front of the mirror at least a couple times a week. To check out your hand positions, visible stress, and "picado face."

Simon,

You´re not alone, I to hate practising in front of the computer. I´ve got all these programs etc, but I hardly use them. Prefer looking at the mountains. I think it´s called inspiration.
And I don´t care about picado faces. If someone doesnt like it, well, look the other way.
