Which Ricardo? Its at an all time high? In what way CD sales?? for the top international stars, Flamenco is always popular, . If you were talking about Ricardo de la Jluana. His Taberna in Almunecar went bust, and has been taken over by someone else, although I hear he has started playing there again. Through lack of punters,, even in the summer, Tourists of the northern European variety being the most wealthy, would go to the club, and although they never had an Entrance fee, the club would make money with Tapas, Drinks food etc. But the meen sods would buy a cerveza pequena, and make it last the whole night. So they started charging a table fee if u sat down, but still this was not enough And Ricardo and his son on flute and his sis, would put on a great show. But anyway this forum, since I last was hear a few years ago seems to have too many touchy Yanks on board, everyone in the world hates them, so when people start calling me a troll, then I thing this needs to be pointed out. Pastor Paco
Errrm guys, do you think it's time to close this thread? Please?! I think these could be interesting debates, but perhaps have got a bit too heated for a clear discussion at the moment.
That's just a suggestion....... don't shout at me please!!!!!
I've been hanging back but now you insult at least half the forum with your frustrations and disillusionment.
You raise interesting points that are ruined by your style. Shame, because your playing speaks more eloquently than your words. Cool it, or find another soapbox.

Yep, I just pulled out of a business project on the coast because I did the numbers. Not enough punters. Nothing to do with flamenco.
