Here's Jason's new website. I'm always interested in new resources, and this one looks pretty good. I was turned off when I saw the cost/payment plans, until I read this in the description of the lessons...

It is an automated monthly billing, but you can cancel at any time. There is a 3 day trial for $9.99. The dance accompaniment sections are not completed yet, but they are in the works. There are a few cante accompaniment lessons available and many more to come in the future. After careful consideration I decided that it is a fair price considering the amount of time it takes to prepare each lesson, webhosting, website design and bandwidth. How much would you have to pay for 1 private lesson? Study at my website for one month as much as you want for $30. Cancel if you want. Comeback when you need to. At my website you can choose from (at the moment) 57 lessons all of which are written out in tab/notation with very detailed right hand fingerings and precise rhythmic notation. With new material added monthly.
Perhaps I should just make the site free and feed my family with my good intentions.......

Here is a link to a recording of one of my former students. David McLean has become quite a good composer I am very proud of his accomplishments and the fact that he manages to compose nice music within the boundaries of his technique. I recorded him here in my studio. I am playing bass and all percussion on the arrangement. (Yes, I have always been a multi-intrumentalist, ask Pedro Cortes). It is not display of technical prowess. It is however a display of David's command of melody.

It's cool to see that, judging by your teaching material, you seem like the most chilled out dude. I guess proportionally it makes sense as your music is very provocative and you're a totally vicious player!

Being from Texas, I have a tendancy to talk slow. I am a pretty relaxed fellow most of the time, but when I perform I often get a little crazy and inspired. I have enjoyed spending a good part of my day off (I am sick with a cold) here on this forum ranting about things.
About David McClean, I am only one of his teachers. He learned a lot in Granada and when he came back to the states he had a lot of questions about how to put all of his ideas and material together and some general questions about technique. All of which he is still working on like, most of us.
Like David, I learned from more than just one guitarist. My list of teachers wouldn't be complete with out mentioning my Jazz and Classical teachers as well. My First teacher was my Mother,next was Chuck Pangburn(Jazz),Enric Madriguera(Classical), Bart Marantz(Jazz), Dave Alexander(Composition), Curt Bradshaw (Experimental Music), Miguel Antonio (Flamenco), Roberto Castellon Jr., Pedro Cortes and Chuscales. All of these teachers will forever have my respect and gratitude.

i second that! i really dig your aggressive style and bad ass technique(especially in your bulerias i saw on youtube). I think it came up here in a thread about a year ago and created quite a discussion.

Hey Jason, Great to see you on this forum. I still play some of the falsetas you taught me maybe ten years ago. Your Cd kicks butt man. Love especially the two bulerias and the opening tango-I knew your record would be great, but it was better than I expected by far. Just great playing and great music. It was cool to hear my buddy Chris ripping that violin solo. I've seen some of your vids on you tube and it's great to see you playing your stuff, but the sound quality of the CD itself together with the playing and the compositions struck a great blow for parity for flamenco guitarists outside Spain IMO. I'm looking forward to reading your opinions on flamenco matters.
