How to play this weird rasgueado??
Guys does anyone who how to play this bit correctly? That is, what do you do with the right hand. The sextuplets is what throws me of in the first bar. What kind of rasgueado is that?
And the second bar, is it played using four stroke eami rasgueo, or can I play it just with up-downstroke i? Vicente's version sounds very interesting, especially for the second bar and I can't produce that sound for some reason.
Very frustrated, it's been a while since I started working on this

Romerito
Well you went to great length there to explain, which I really appreciate. I mean that's a very great and detailed way of answering my question. I owe you now. Maybe I can send you some sheet music or something, although I may not have much but you never know ALso, very good rasgueado playing, I'm impressed. Thanks Bogdan

Hi, When i come across things like that, I play it in triplets. So aiiaiiaii. So Down A, Down i, Up i, and again..It creates a very fast rasg. (duh it's a triplet) If you can't play this kind of rasg. know that if you practice slowly you'll learn it very quick. Have fun with it

Oh romerito I know that perfectly well. But in the pathetic american wasteland that I live in, there is no teacher. In fact I found out yesterday that the dean of the school of music in my University "doesn't like guitar". How can you even say that? How immature is that? I've played classical for a decade or so, used to have a classical teacher when I lived in Kiev, Ukraine. Then had to rely on literature and my own understanding. There are no good classical teachers in the vicinity here, there used to be one flamenco teacher in New Orleans. After the hurricane in 2005 everyone left.

Miguel Espinoza is in Denver - at least, I'm pretty sure he still is. He's stellar, one of the best flamenco players in the US, perhaps the best, and a heck of a nice guy. When he's not touring, he gives lessons.
If interested, you can check out his playing on the two Curandero CDs he released before they disbanded. Killer stuff, and the only American-made flamenco fusion that actually has eco, and tons of it. (Don't get me started on that nouvea Ottmar/Jesse/Armik crapola....)
And, for Curandero fans, Miguel told me they're working on putting another album together.

Hey romerito I'm in Baton Rouge, LA> MISERY!!!! Nothing here at all, I thought that you guys got it better. Funny thing, me and my wife love Colorado, we go every year to Estes Park. Actually going in July again. We got married there in St. Malo by mount Meeker last year. Even more interesting we love the place so much we're planning to move there. I'm finishing school here and want to work in Colorado State, they have my department in there that is supposedly very good.
