RE: Gerardos' courses in Sanlucar (in reply to Franchiquito)
I'm going to be going this year but Richard Marlow is the expert about the course. I've heard you don't learn a thing but it is a great time!!!! I'd rather have a great time any day of the week. I'm sure I'll learn something. I'm also going to be going to the Cordoba guitar Festival.

I have no binocular and directional microphone so.. nothing for me. Ok I have no money at the moment , too. So I cant buy a binocular and directional microphone..

Its not worth the money. I saw pictures of these classes. Around 100 pupils in front of gerardo. He... 20 meters away on a higher desk showing a falseta. 100 pupils fiddling around and I cant see fingers or frets from 100 meters distance. And hearing is as uneasy as watching it...
And no... I just thought about using this equipment for these classes. Not for my work as secret agent....

Ahhh, okay. Didn't make the connection there.
Hmmm. I am pretty excited about it but I knew it would be like that and am more excited about meeting the other guitarists after the lessons. That's where I'm sure you can get a lot. Plus 9 straight days of only playing guitar the whole day. Once you're married, you'll never get any other chance to do that on vacation time
You can buy any notes from Gerardo albums and find out for a lot less money that they aren't playable for most humans, I guess
I'd like to hear from Ricardo and others who have been there what they get out of it.

So Doitsujin....... I gather you won't be going to Sanlucar this summer.... right?
John, you can bet you'll learn more just from being there that you will from Gerardo. That's what these courses are mainly set up for.... the ambiance. See you there.

At this point I am pretty much done defending Gerardo against certain attitudes, especially from folks who were not there or that don't know Gerardo or are simply very low level at understanding flamenco. If you want search the topic in the archives and read my posts.
As far as Doit's comments, he is totally right, in the sense that the less GUITAR students there complaining and blocking my view, the better for ME. So please nobody go...it is not worth it.

No offence meant by that, just so you know! I'm excited to death, man! Wanted to get a sure-fire positive voice in the group. I only meant that there MUST be more to it than just the sessions, which I'm sure you know to be true. If you've written enough about it before, sorry - I'll check the archives.
