It must be possible to record from a CD onto computer and slow it down in playback. Anyone know of software that can do that? Would be good it kept the original pitch.
You can download audacity for free at audacity.com Record the cd in audacity and you can change pitch, tempo and speed ( which is tempo and pitch at the same time)
If you have something to ask I will be glad to help you. Just pm me.
Does anyone have any direct experience with both slowing software AND the Tascam thing? My computer’s kind of a heap and the hard drive is just about maxed out, so I don’t really have room for new programs and cd burning. So I've been curious about that Tascam deal and wondering how it compares to the software slowers in terms of ease of use, functionality, etc. It’s definitely pricier than free software...
Than buy it, or use PM for more informations about the ...... ..... ..... ..... ....... ... features of the programm... than you wanna buy it I think so....
Intervideo WinDVD will play any CD or DVD at any speed from 50 to 200 percent of the original speed and restore the original pitch so you can look and playalong if you want.
I'm pretty sure we had a conversation about this five years ago Jim. My computer came with it as standard.
You can get a free sample from the Intervideo website
PS I really liked that Fandangos you posted the other day, picado's in particular sounded real smooth and rhythmical
The Tascam unit is outstanding. I have used it for over a year and it works great. I don't like to set in front of a computer to practice and the Tascam fills the bill. All you do is pop in a CD and play it just like any other CD player. I have even striped out the audio of video files and saved it to a CD. You can also burn MP3's to a CD and slow them down.
The audio quality when slowed down is better than The Amazing Slowdowner.
It's a bit expensive, but if it went dead, I'd have another in a day or two.
Hi Graeme, I don't seem to have 'play menu' or at lease I cant find it? I've got the most up to date version. Strange looking thing with dark colour frame. Headings are - 'Now Playing' 'Library' 'Rip' 'Burn' 'Sync' and then 'Media Guide' Help!
