New Year but when?

Just reading the recent posts been interesting as New Year crosses the globe. Florian first up and just back from a night out living it up in some 40+ club in Adalaide and Henrik out there with his folks having a few beers and our US amigos with it still all to happen.
Made me wonder, where you all believe New Year to be?
Thing is, being in Scotland where it all started, Auld Lang Syne, Hogmanay and the bells etc. I always think of you being either before or after the actual event but I know this is just my perocial point of view, but honestly what do you all think?

I always felt that it was sad the the old year went away
I don´t want new years eve to be anything.
Most of my New years been spent watching, TV playing guitar, going to bed before 12.
Its the last 7 years that i´ve been celebrating it.
