One thing about music teachers - most cannot teach, regardless of instrument.

In fact that goes for most teachers regardless of subject matter. Having a title is one thing and reality is something else.

I have paid $60 an hour earlier this year.

Tom Whitely is right, choose very carefully. Even consider doing an interview to see if the teacher will help you advance in the best directions for you.

There was an interesting post in the Google classical guitar newsgroup by Christopher Berg, who I am pretty convinced is a great teacher.

This short post is worth reading to get some thoughts:

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=Christopher+Berg+group:rec.music.classical.guitar&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&group=rec.music.classical.guitar&safe=off&selm=19981021233914.20995.00001917%40ngol08.aol.com&rnum=6

The more you know about where you want to go will be helpful too, I imagine since you're looking you know...

Thanks for the link, learned something today again!

The guy I probably take lessons from is a gifted guitarist, with a free aire, and I can use some of that in my playing.

But if he can teach.....

here is his site, you can find 8 fragments of his cd.
