The guitar of mine has been played since the past 3.5 years. Granted it's been played a lot, just wondering if it's normal or maybe an indication of bad neck finish [won't be surprised].
Shared it on reddit and people said I have sweaty hands [not true, I sweat very less], I apply too much pressure on the neck [not true], it's been played a lot [true], the finish is not great [unsure and could be true].

RE: Do you have this type of neck wear? (in reply to metalhead)
yes it is normal for French polish or light finish in general. I just had my Jeronimo Peña Fernandez refinished in the same spot and told my student that did the job to make it extra thick. Because it is applied in layers after each dries it took a long time. I already know I will need this job again for my Faulk 19th century guitar at some point.
Many luthiers don't like poly urethane on guitars these days, however, I greatly prefer it on the back of the neck for this reason.

Nice to know that. Then I am not really worried anymore, because it helps with grip due to the increased friction. Without this type of wear, the thumb tends to slip a little .
