i totally love the Sound of the guitar, i wonder what the specifications are i.e woods used and why his J.Bellido really rocks !
It is in fact Amir Haddad who really rocks.
No doubt the guitar makes a difference but to demonstrate listen to the clips of him playing several guitars, they make a difference but HIS sound comes out whatever guitar he's playing.
(Also Johannes has got El Viejín's Conde for sale, which was used on 'Algo Que Decir' and used by Ramon Jimenez on 'Sembrando Inquietudes' and Paco de Lucia has also recorded with it.)
There are some issues with the sound conversion atm. The clips run only @ 64Kbits/sec We will upload all the vids in hd to our new youtube channel during the next few days... Thomas
Hey, can someone help me out? Currently learning this falseta:
But I can't figure out the bit at 0:42 - 0:46; in Amazing Slowdowner it doesn't slow down well because it kind of blurs together oddly, and the video is way too fast for me. Would appreciate if someone could help me out.
cool. I was a Kramer kid as well, until recently. One thing to point out when he explains his gain staging between the peddles, that Duncan JB he is using is super hot compared to normal pickups like dimarzio or the malmsteen Fury. By that I mean I set up my clean sound with the Dimarzio let's say...when I switch out with my Kramer, it already has distortion, which means I would have to dial it way back if I used that guitar for anything other than beefy metal chunk. To be clear I mean my basic chain into the amp is too high gain with the pick ups. This will translate into volume as well (Kramer is basically a very loud guitar with those JB). Cool trick to mimic the neck pick up with the wha wha, but I would think it hard to get it exactly where it needs to be on that swivel. I guess it is an ear thing. But I am a pick up switch guy now and no turning back.
I told the story on here in the past, I saw Amir play in Madrid for Imaculada Ortega and then we hung out with a mutual friend late night in the plaza. I remember we played some Rondeña buleria that was similar, and discussed our rock background and recognizing the overlap of the metal guitar style and flamenco, and these homeless gypsies came over doing palmas for us and we gave them some cash and Amir gave them a joint.
Great story with Amir and homeless palmas guys! Sounds a movie or TV commercial lol
Yes, I know what you mean about higher output pickups. That newer Ibanez AZ I got has much lower gain than the RG (really hot) and its way easier and more flexible and to add input boost, EQ, or amp gain. And nice to have more control with the volume knob. I’m also preferring the neck pickup / getting practice switching since you enlightened me about that and I now notice other players doing it when I hadn’t before. Much richer tonal pallet
