Wow, they were dumb enough to send that letter to the same company that already beat them years ago, same lawyer involved and everything? That was really stupid. Oh well, it looks like it is over before it began.

Yngwie says it is too late. That is true and is one reason. But I think the real issue is just being out of touch.
People hate such corporate BS, laywers, and elite behaviour etc. I think it is mixed in and also subconciously related to current politics and overall disgust for it. So the masses advocate for the "underdog", the small company who copied strats and is now being served these lawyer letters (of course BIG companies like Thomann "misuse" this too for their purpose). And the whole socialmedia infrastructure amplifies it exponentially. At the end, it was a mistake and caused more harm than good.

Probably some of you have seen this grotesque interview. The guy is clueless about the damage done. "We could have done this better in hindsight". Right, now is the time dude. Oh well. An interesting comment about patent vs copyright. Malmsteen and Leo Fender himself recognized the mistake of competitors...that this was an alien space "art" and the flying V etc answered it missing the point. It was ERGONOMICS, and he had to relinquish the copyright or artist design option in order to create a patent for the FUNCTIONAL design, which has since run out rendering this copyright claim ridiculous at this point in history. I am often reminded here about Floyd Rose tremolo and locking nuts vs Kahler and other similar designs that had to avoid looking too similar despite the fact it all had to function more or less the same.
Likely this guy is tasked with an ugly job to destroy this company deliberately by people that want someone to buy them out. At least that is what I think after hearing some of this (could not watch it all).
