Ramirez guitars - SUPER expensive

Hi folks,

I came across this website the other day:

https://goldtonemusicgroup.com/joseramirez/catalog.php?cat=professional&guitar_type=flamenco

What's the deal with these guitars?

I'm familiar with Ramirez guitars that people have from the sixties (that seem to be in the $5K to $10K range) and I used to have a $600 classical guitar by Ramirez ( this one - https://www.guitarsalon.com/product/2010-jose-ramirez-r1-cd-mh ) but I've never seen these models that seem to be getting manufactured at scale but are SO EXPENSIVE.

I'm just surprised that I've never heard of these or come across any of them until today (not even on the used market). Like for example, this one:

MAC is a great player.

Has anyone ever owned one of these models that are SO expensive? Are they worth this price?

Jose 1 developed these for flamenco players and found moderate success. His brother and rival Manuel developed a different model which obviously carried on as the quintessential style flamenco guitar. Jose 3 lamented that his father (Jose 2) clung stubbornly to the same Tablao guitar design and therefore lost the flamenco clientele who gravitated to the Manuel Ramirez followers (Santos, Esteso, etc) so to compete with Conde Barbero and etc, he develop his own unique cedar top flamenco and rediscovered the success with the flamenco guys. He did admit his experiments all failed (this guitar is NOT flamenco!) so he was sticking with basically the Manuel Ramirez design with options for cedar, pegs etc, but he found classical guitarists where much more open to his experiments. Jose 4 and Amalia inherited the guitar collection of their father and he said he had one of these. I doubt they were ever that popular as yes we have never seen one used on the market.

So to my surprise the namm show 2018 had the catalogue for free and I saw they were offering these as reissued upon request. Interesting for historical reasons but if we are honest, over priced. Of course Ramirez today is not what it once was. M. Ramirez and his understudies were all the best followed by Conde and Ramirez 3 and I am afraid it will stay that way.
