Ordering rosette sticks
I used to get rosette sticks from Luthier's Mercantile International (LMI) but they no longer exist. I found what I'm looking for at dalwamark.com in Japan, but although they have some English language on their website I can't seem to place an order on it. They want to know my prefecture and they want my Japanese postal codes and they don't like my name.... Anyone know how to order from them? Or another place to get rosette sticks?
Having received no reply from japarts.ca I asked my search engine whether japarts dot com still exists and this is the answer I received:
The website japarts.ca appears to be inactive or non-functional as of recent checks. The site currently displays a "Not Found" error and has not been accessible for some time, with reports indicating technical issues and unresponsiveness to inquiries. Despite the domain being registered until 2027 and having been active since at least 2010, the website's SSL certificate is invalid, and attempts to analyze its content have failed.
Although the company was previously known to supply guitar parts and tools, including Gotoh tuners and Uo-Chikyu files, with a physical address in North Vancouver, British Columbia , there have been no recent confirmations of operations. The last reliable user report of service was in April 2022, when a customer noted delays and email issues, though they still had positive experiences with prior orders.
Given the lack of recent activity, no current product listings, and failure to respond to contact attempts, it is likely that japarts.ca is no longer operational as a functioning business.
I guess cutting your own sticks from these 550x200x0,5mm colored veneer sheets would be too much hassle and crazy time consuming? (not a luthier so not sure), otherwise this could be an option if nothing available at all ?
I buy flat veneer and cut the strips with a metal meter ruler and an exacto knife. I order the veneer from place in Colorado. With a big enough order free shipping in US
