Met several Japanese flamenco guitar and dance students in Spain. So it seems flamenco is huge in Japan. I have never heard of any Japanese flamenco luthiers though (I know Yamaha did have some Flamenco concert models back in the 1990's but then stopped making them). Are there any luthiers in Japan who are famous or popular for their flamenco guitars?
To follow up on Ed Guerin's post above, Stephen Faulk is a well-known luthier who makes both flamenco and classical guitars. He is based in Akune, Japan, and you can view his website at "Stephen Faulk Guitars."

It’s funny, most Japanese flamenco guitars go to the U.S. market, and they are usually student models. The guitarists here in Japan prefer Spanish made guitars and there are many dealers who stock all the important makers working now and in the past. For classical guitars, Japanese players are more open to Japanese made instruments, but flamenco is decidedly biased towards Spain made.
