F**cking Apps

This is so true ......

Wanted to buy a new dishwasher for my Mom and it came with an app. What? Who needs this sh!t? How about focusing on producing stuff which don't break one day after warranty is finished instead of useless "how to make life harder" useless apps...

Dishwasher?? Imagine purchasing the entire central household heating and airconditioning equipment at cost (two or three condes or so) so that your friend can install it for a huge discount, only to learn that he can't understand the app ****, so can't turn it the F on, and the people that do know how to do it refuse to touch the stuff because they did not install it themselves so you sit in 90 degrees hot summer for weeks as your friend takes a private class in this modern tech from his friend.....

Jesus... this sounds horrible.

This is why I don't replace the old stuff as long as they work or as long as the goverment doesn't force me due to some stupid new rule.

We have an oil heater and boiler which is running since 1975 for 50 freaking winters when my dad bought this house. Everyone trying to convince me to replace it, I refuse it is a Tank from the time there was real german quality. I service it myself every couple years with 30 Euros worth of materialI. All I had to do is watch couple youtube vids. II know for sure that the new stuff will break after few years. Almost all my neigbours and their constant problems re my proof

The first step is app, the next will be subscribe. Companies have realized subscription is more profitable than owning. BMW was recently testing specific car features as a subscription model...

This why you should vote. With enough representatives who will stand up to corporate interests we can ban apps for apps for appliances. It’s now a thing, and it’s time to stop proprietary control.

It started with farm tractors that were not designed to be worked on by non manufacturers mechanics. It’s prompted a ‘right to repair’ debate in the farming community. But dumb farmers kept voting for conservatives who did whatever tractor manufacturers and Silicon Valley told them to do.

In California we started hating the high tech industry around 2004, now everyone else is beginning to understand why.
