Jesus... this sounds horrible.
This is why I don't replace the old stuff as long as they work or as long as the goverment doesn't force me due to some stupid new rule.
We have an oil heater and boiler which is running since 1975 for 50 freaking winters when my dad bought this house. Everyone trying to convince me to replace it, I refuse [:D] it is a Tank from the time there was real german quality. I service it myself every couple years with 30 Euros worth of materialI. All I had to do is watch couple youtube vids. II know for sure that the new stuff will break after few years. Almost all my neigbours and their constant problems re my proof
