to try and defeat search engines, have changed the subject... didn't realize how public things can be.... but seems comments retain the orignal subject title...

I'll answer cos no one else has, but.... I've not been and probably wouldn't ever attend juans course.
He has a certain reputation. I learned from his books 20odd years ago end can't really fault it. I quickly moved on and don't consider him an authentic source who id want to learn more from.
I also met him tendinitis on the london underground once and I politely said hi and I was learning from his material. He was pretty rude. But hey ho.
Would probably be a fun experience, playing flamenco in ronda etc. Eating, drinking enjoying the weather etc.
Would choose Nunez, manuel Leon, and even the online flamenco academy cordoba course before JM.
Or even just a week or two in jerez, doing private or group classes with manuel valencia, Jose ignacio, etc

told me to leave him the **** alone!
ahhaha no not really. Im pretty low key guy, respectful etc and just politely said hello and he looked annoyed said hello and I told him I learned some stuff from his books and thanks and he kinda looked bored and said ive gotta go. and sort of knocked the enthusiasm out of me. ( not that i was ever that enthused)

Thanks Stu. Guess he's spending as much time in London as Spain these days. I know him from his instruction books and videos as well. The videos could certainly have benefitted from HD. I'd benefit from his course, but it's not clear how much of the instruction he'll do himself. Keeping options open.

I met him once after he performed with his ensemble in London church in about 1996. He also seemed disinterested in my sycophancy, although he did sign my cassette tape along with the other musicians who were generally friendly.
