These are two contact microphone pickup systems from Tenerife-based (Canary Islands) Spanish company, VS Audio Systems. I really love contact microphones because they are such a non-invasive, plug-and-play, easy method of amplifying your guitar. In noisy environments (such as loud neighbors), these are a great way to attenuate ambient noise in your recordings. The output on these phantom-powered pickups is ultra-loud, and their ability to resist feedback is mindboggling. The placement on the instrument is *key* in the tonal qualities you get. This has to be determined through experimentation and based on taste. I am showing three possible spots here - of note, these are all plugged directly into my Antelope Audio Zen Quadro interface (applying real-time effects to include mild compression, limiting, and reverb), so no amps or external mics were used. I am comparing two of their systems, one with three mic capsules, and one with a single mic capsule. These are also super affordable, and Emilio, the owner, is super friendly and responsive! What do y'all think of the sound?
