Video Editing Program

Hello everybody,

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a program that can slow down videos while MAINTAINING their audio in correct pitch. I have a program that can do that to audio, but I don't know if a program can do that for video. It does not have to be a real time effect. The video can be processed and then played back but in slow motion (while keeping the audio in sync and in correct pitch; i.e. the result should be just like those slow versions that Ricardo does of certain falseta videos). If you can figure it out, it will save all the guitarists like Ricardo and ToddK the time of recording instructional videos while playing slowly so that beginners like myself can catch up. A friend told me that QuickTime can do it, but it turns out that the pitch gets severly impaired; the guitar starts sounding like a BASS GUITAR when you slow the video down!! So can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks.

Ok here is the jackpot: Use winamp and google for "pacemaker". It slows down maintaining the pitch and if you want also changing the pitch. Its for free.

Synched audio must stay with the video frames. A slowed down video e.g. changing the velocity envelope to -50% will have to lose 50% of its frames to keep with the timecode and that begs the question as to whether it will have much educational value, but it might work.

I use SONY Vegas and it can slow down video while keeping the audio in synch but I have not tried it with a guitar.

I would shoot at 50 frames per sec. or higher to maximise frame information.
