If the top is screwed onto the bottle then no air can get in, so surely no need for this?

On the other hand, if the top is not screwed on securely and air can get in that would justify the need for an outer air-tight container... but the glue would leak out of the bottle and make a complete mess....

or am I missing something here?

glue , resins whatever , they get thicker with higher temperatures , thats why theres no need to use an acelerator because its almost "done" to dry (it dries very fast) so you have to aplly quickly and the chance to get bubbles is very high.

if the temperature is low and high humidity , it will be thinner/liquid and harder to dry , but less bubbles in the finish and gives you more time to work/apply, but more time to dry

so the only solution is to store in a temperature that you think its ideal for you.
right now for me , its the fridge

I always enjoy your posts, info and questions. I am, as I said last post, done with this topic and people are free to experiment or do whatever they want or believe in. All I can do and have done is share my experience, which has already been informed by such experiments in the past. I wish I had a euro for all the locked and discarded bottles I have suffered with over the years. Good luck to everybody and their nails/glues, etc.

the old nail protector wasnt protecting due to temperature and air contact , so it ****ed my middle finger nail , the nail cracked in the middle so i had a fissure . I polish and put new nail protector , started to grow last week to this , but the fissure is still active in this origin , i can sand more with dificult but i think the better option is to Glue the fissure so the two sides will compact and acelerate the process.
its sucks , speccialy the rasgeo

It is tempting.. I just feel I might miss the soft sound I can now achieve with a small effort if I want to.

I have used in the past:
- Acrylic, but it had too hard sound, though almost indestructible, really, I have used a big rock hitting the nail again another rock and nothing happened to the nail.

- Silk with glue, more natural feel and good lifespan but a bit troublesome to apply

I have also friends using ping pong balls successfully

If glue, especially with a brush is as easy as it sounds to use, and sounds as close to the natural nail as the silk and glue, it is quite tempting.

I have relatively strong nails. My nails have that nice arc too. Some people are born and destined to be a tocaor.

Ricardo nail is growing overall but the crack is still there... maybe the glue turns old on the nail and opened again?
What should i do after aplying the first time/layer , aply more in the next day/days?
or aplying everyweek (1 time per week?) till the nail grows more and the crack finaly closes?

Yes, and yes. To be honest I would create a paper towel 2 ply fake nail for a week to really protect it. Depends how much you need to play.

i have to start pratice more again , this nail its getting my nerves and desmotivating because the rasgeo is harder and doesnt flow like it was , my concern its not that much to protect, but to fix the crack and close/fix the crack

that crack was due to the old varnish that im not using anymore, now the goal is to fix the crack. Theres a thinline between the crack that i dont know how the nail will grow in that place , dont know if theres any hack to promote , im just using glue and varnish .
Maybe i have to give time to it

A guitarist from Madrid I studied with used nothing on his nails. I asked him how he could play for dance and he said "Like this!" and did some loud rasquedos. Recently a fellow student of Tino's said he was limited in his practice because he had broken his thumb nail. Tino said you don't play with your nails, you play with your heart.

On a practical level, I think pros, as well as the rest of us, have to deal with nail issues regularly, and figure out how to make the sound required when their nails are not at their best.

Jerónimo disagreed with the silk and glue I used back in 2007 when I met him and told me to let the nails naturally so they could grow stronger. I did that for a whole year before my classical guitar diploma and never broke a nail back then.

But.. flamenco.. is quite brutal for the nails. And not only by breaking them but also wearing them out and messing with the shape one feels that works best.

By the way Jerónimo's nails are indestructible, so he is not a good role model for taking care of nails.
