Interesting, I never even noticed that! Maybe because his live concerts are mostly just whats on his album? Thinking Paco band live vs a paco album.. Yeah, could be, although I think it should not matter that much. Now that I think, very few of the flamenco guitar players have live album (if I am not mistaken neither Tomatito or Gerardo have one). It is not a normal thing, and the only reason Paco made live recordings is because they book end the studio periods and we can see glimpses of the evolution he was promoting. Vicente’s live show DVD is ALREADY a rare thing. No need from ANY flamenco player to do this thing. I see Paco’s recording career as two albums or so, then live, because you need at least that many to see the full range of palo development. Fabulosa/fantasia and then the live in Germany Fiesta Flamenca. Then Recital (an odd one with 6 guitars)/Duende/Fuente with live in Teatro Real. Next Almoraima/Castro Marin/Solo Quiero Caminar, live in San Fran is an off set however the new Saturday shows the two solos that are part of the rep and honestly, his best performances of either. The live Sextet is a transition to Siroco/Zyrab, and live in America shows the evolution of the those two. Finally, Luzia/Cositas and the final Spain concerts of that material.
