Completely Stunned...

I'm stunned that this forum is STILL here! I haven't been here in quite some time and sad to see that somewhere along the way some folks have passed on. Still, I'm really happy to see Foroflamenco alive and kicking. I'm sure all the faces have changed and the regular contributors are probably a new bunch, but I'm glad to see this place is still active!

There's a story in today's New York Times about 80 year-old men who refuse to give up playing ice hockey. Perhaps the foro is headed on a similar trajectory!

Post pandemic, some old members are coming back to profess their re awakening of flamenco guitar. Then they are gone the following week

Can't say I'm professing anything. If anything, I've been playing a 12-string steel string lately. Still, I follow some of the "newer" flamenco online media accounts to see who's doing what. The problem is free time....that mythical creature that lives somewhere next door to Bigfoot and Loch Ness.

Yes some of us are still here. However, as Jason said, many old timers login and post for a few days then disappear again. And as you can see by this mornings posts, we get bombarded by Spam bots more than new aficionado members.

Among the old-timers who have not posted in years, the one's I miss because they added so much to the Foro and had so much knowledge are: Kate, Estela ("Zata"), GJ Michelob, and Pimientito. Does anyone know what happened to any of them, or shall we assume they just moved on?

Hung with Pimientito last summer in Sanlucar, and had a great time. Except a young 15 year old kid from chipiona came into class with the SAME NICKNAME! So we had two pimientitos to deal with. He suffered a devastating loss over the holidays and I talked to him on the phone about it back then. I hope he is doing well, but missed him this summer. The others I don’t know much about what they are doing.

I spent this year's curso hanging with pim in sanlucar! He seemed on great form. Pim, bursche from here and myself drank manzanilla and ate a lot of nice food!

I also ran into some Danish dudes who know anders very well. I think the lady was his sister in law.(vague memory though as it was a late and sherry coated discussion)

He was another valuable member here.

I've never been the best contributor but I always like to like my nose in now and again.

Haha. I dont know why you mentioned this though. Slightly out of context.

As for old foro members. Leave it in the past. Most of them already moved on. Some made a pseudo comeback and disappeared again. As admitted above some are busy playing a 12 steel string and stuff.
