A special lesson

Just back from a 90 minute lesson with Moises in Jerez de la Frontera. It was perhaps the best lesson I've ever had but I can't really say why.

We burnt some time discussing football and about him learning [or not] English - so not a packed 90 mins).

I drove the lesson as always (I follow an online course so don't want two distinct routes).

We covered a complex chord progression, Solea, Fandangos and finally Farruca. We changed a few Rasqueos.

I played, he played, we played together (but totally informally, I just joined in when, as he does, he went with the flow ).

I knew it was going to be good as before, when I had 25 mins waiting on the platform for the train, I played and all went incredible well. A guy sat on the bench about 7 metres from mine (there were a dozen other benches and the platform was empty). Not sure how much he heard but he didn't run away (or sadly offer any money ). But I felt good in the Andalusian sun.

Now back home I see some things with greater clarity, I have a way forward for a couple of things, I have a bit of focus on Flamenco guitar as opposed to any other genre (just something Moises shared).

15 Euros I don't regret spending . Anyone else get something out of a special lesson, but perhaps can't exactly say why? Or maybe you can?

RE: A special lesson (in reply to flyeogh

I had a lesson, earlier this year with Jesus El Guardia, where he ran through buleria in a lot of different tonos, then he showed me the same idea of having a falseta "pattern" in the key for alegrias, mirabras and then solea por buleria. he then did the same rasgueo pattern for each aswell.

Lot of stuff clicked for me that afternoon, and once you learn certain phrases or patterns, they pretty much are "uni -sex" across the other palos, since then ive spent alot of time transposing stuff from por arriba to por medio and vice versa.
