the sore fingers solea

everytime i try to record something my fingers tense up and I do stupid mistakes but now i don't care. I wanna hear your thoughts about how my guitar has developed (if you can remember from the last video, i deleted it *awkward*). no talking this time, only sore fingers and mistakes 😂 enjoy

Jalah I did my test. I closed my eyes, I let your music flow through my soul. I could see a copa de fino, the hot sun drifting lower in the sky, ....... so did it for me.

It filled me with just relaxation with a hint of optimism.

I liked some of the rasqueos. I'd certainly ask you to play more before the sunset.

I think it sounds wonderful.
Can you tell a bit about the guitar (or link to a previous post, I could not find it)?

Nice job. My fingers like to tense up too when I record myself. I don’t know what guitar this is but it sounds pretty bright and punchy like a Blanca!

It’s great! You’ve got a unique instrument that can develop with you over the years and become like an old friend.

guys I am so moved 😭 thank you, didn't expect such feedback. also I will practice more before sunset i promise 🙏🏼

it sounds like a blanca, but it's actually a "Negra" made of walnut back an sides. here I shared the making progress: http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=303672&p=1&tmode=1&smode=1

this is the one that needed to be refinished because of a little mishap, unfortunately. but the maker did a great job and was very helpful at the end, which is great.

I missed the original post, but I've just read it. It's a wonderful account, I see that you were very excited about the guitar and building process which is excellent, congratulations.

Cheers

I know that feeling of fingers fumbling when recording or performing in front of someone. It sounds pretty good though especially the arpeggio and rasgueado sections.
how long have you been learning?

Aww shucks I didn’t really watch the video but listened with my headphones. No offense Jalal Goes to show I don’t know what I’m talking about. Its so hard to distinguish between Blanca and Negra by sound alone a lot of the time. I hear walnut makes a good flamenco

RE: the sore fingers solea (in reply to jalalkun

thank you filip and andy

himanshu, I have been playing the guitar for about 8½ years now and started to learn flamenco about 4 years ago. Still a way to go regarding my playing but i'll slowly get there hopefully. thank you 😊

hey don't worry jason, no offense taken walnut is dark colored but is not as hard as rosewoods commonly used for negras and i guess that's why it doesn't have that bassy/trebly sound that is associated with a negra but rather a more silky airy sound. that's why you weren't that wrong with 'blanca' and why i put "negra" in quotation marks. it's a morena I was so not sure if walnut was the right choice for this guitar but everytime i pick it up and it barks at me I feel so rewarded
