Nothing on iTunes or Spotify yet.

I did find this video of "Flores", which is on the new recording:

Ugh, sounds like a jazz orchestra falling down a set of stairs.

Really? That seems harsh...this is about as flamenco puro as you can get with that array of instruments. Great cante and guitar with a tasteful seasoning of violin/keyboard/percussion/bass to my ears.

The bass isn’t farting and there’s no flute playing “Goin’ Up the Country” in the background. That’s gotta count for something

At a minimum, the bass must be able to fart before the orchestra is allowed to fall down the stairs. I thought that was Union rules.

Another easy decision, then: I’ll just stick to Chicuelo’s Encuentro video.

I’m looking forward to hearing the release. I think Chicuelo is a great player and I appreciate how he is willing to stretch, like with Poveda and Faiz Ali Faiz, for example. He’s also been known to play on some other decidedly non-flamenco stuff. I mean, he’s from Barcelona, right? I believe he’s even been seen on stage with that Rosalita character.

I think the mix is good on the ‘Flores’ video, maybe the vocals a bit too at front. But otherwise I enjoyed it. I’ll take violin over flute any day of the week.

Thanks so much for posting the video, Rob. I loved it. East meets west and the results are beautiful.

@Fred - at least one album came out of that collaboration. It's well worth checking out.

This collaboration I quite like. Catchy and has structure. The downside of taking risks is sometimes it goes wrong - Flores to my ears is in comparison a mess.

Oh man this is sooooo 2004🙄

But I’m glad to see that in 2019 the same old boringly predicactable prejudices are ever present, it’s so comforting.

Chicuelo is still playing a Conde and they went out of style after Paco passed.

'Flores' Why is it that they now play lengthy intros that are so boring until the real fun starts? Jesus Guerrero also does the same.

On Napster (who pay artists more than Spotify) you won't find it by searching for his stage name. You need to use either his real name or the album name.

Personally I listened for 1/2 a track and then hit replay on Por Mi Amor Al Arte.

Does anyone understand what the album cover is supposed to be? Are those fingernail clippings scattered around?
