Niño Miguel

I've been listening to Niño Miguel's albums and watching videos of him on youtube for the last couple of months. He has become my favourite. What a genius he was!

What is happening at 2:01-2:03? Sounds like alzapua rather than rasgueado as it is so "springy". Or maybe I am wrong. What combination of strokes would produce that?

I have no idea what he's doing there. Sounds like some combo of alzapua and rasgueado...

I'm trying to learn this zambra. He recorded it on his Diferente album as well, it was called Embrujo y Magia.

Not just amii four times? Notice how his right arm is moving up, similarly to how it does when you're having to cock your fingers into the thumb before flicking them out in a rajeo.

Wow, by the way - he's looking really good in that HD video. I wonder if someone is taking care of him whey they don't do something about his teeth, whether dentures, or implants.

Jokes aside, I heard a story once, cannot recall where, that he 'out-falseteo' PDL in a mano a mano during a fiesta.

He died in 2013.

For those who haven't seen it, he did a concert in Seville in 2011:

And this a fantastic documentary on Miguel:

If you don't have his two albums, La Guitarra del Niño Miguel and Diferente, you should get them. Flamenco guitar just doesn't get any better in my opinion. Those albums are fantastic.

You are wrong he is just flicking aggressively on the accents (4,6,8,10-11), ami triplet, i up.

Also, the section of falseta at 3:20 ish to 3:30 is out of compas (3 counts missing or extra)....and he is recreating the same mistake that was made on the original recording....watch the palmeros.

I love Nino Miguel but why are the palmas on his album and even in the above video so offensive?

Thank you Ricardo, and Ramzi earlier. I don't know why this jumped out at me like that the first time I heard it. I was so impressed with the springy sound and crisp firing.
