Recent favorite albums
Hi all, I know there's been a few of these kind of posts but I've really taken our of the listening habit this last year. Due to work and baby I just have no time to seek out new music.
Any recent favorites to recommend. 2016/17 releases?
Can't help you much here Stu as Cameron is about as modern as my listening gets recently. But a few months ago I was burnt by the Flamenco police for suggesting Montse Cortes' last album was surprisingly good given some of the atrosities of her Lemon days.
Not sure what all you have access too or what you have... I saw recently that several of moraito's accompaniment and solo albums have become digitally available on Amazon US. A Mis Hermanos by Diego Clavel is the only thing I can think of that I've bought in the last year - but I think that was an older release.
Most have similar covers, the title is always uninspired and/or copied from someone else, the track titles follow the same thought, the sound is the usual thing and the musical content doesn't vary much.
Just stick to old records, youtube and the falseta swap shop

Why such grief about Montse cortes album??
Thanks I'll check Daniel clavel.never heard of him. Also yes. Manuel Valencia album I have. I like it a lot.
Ethan dude, quit hijacking my thread!! Hahaha he's had that signature for ages. You're distracting people from the important matter of helping me expand my music collection.

Haha - I changed the signiture in the light of the recent cyber attacks.

Dunno - perhaps becasue she was born the wrong side of 1950 & isn't dead yet
Actually, to be fair, the critism was direct more at a particular youtube video than the album itself.
Ha, yes - its somewhat confusing to me with several artists sharing the same "stage" name. I don't really know well enough the history of which is what and I doubt amazon would discriminate, but based on the cover the album with Antonio Agujetas is Moraito Chico, who passed on in 2011-2012 iirc. One way or the other I am happy with Amazon's trend towards making more flamenco music available digitally!
Haha, I actually wrote, 'solo guitar and / or cante albums please' But then deleted so as not to make any influence on peoples ideas. What I was really hoping for was some Baile albums!
