Any Black Friday Deals for Guitars
I just joined the GSI mailing list and I know they are running Black Friday deals on accessories, but haven't heard anything about their guitars. I'll be looking for a step up from my Yamaha. GSI seems to be the only place near me that sells anything other than Cordobas.

Yes, that's true, but no other alternatives in my area. I'm surrounded by Guitar Centers and Sam Ashes. The mom and pop stores around mostly stock no-name brands from China.

Over the years I have found Dan Zeff to have the best deals of serious instruments. They are used but so are most at GSI and other outlets. Www.danzeffguitars.com

I bought a guitar from Dan Zeff earlier this year and am really happy with it. He dropped the price a lot to get in my budget. Looks like you live pretty close so you could go there and try some out.

What price range are you looking for? I forgot to mention my old blanca is for sale, under $1,000 There is a Pavan in the classifieds for $900, my teacher has one, its a descent guitar.

That Sanchis is nice but out of my price range. I'm looking for something I would be able to finance. Every time I try to save up, something tends to pop up that makes a yet another guitar purchase seem, how should I put it... irresponsible? Lol! I've been playing guitar a long time but have only been playing flamenco for the past year and would like a step up from the Yamaha.

This kind of wish has featured in a lot of posts.
Bargains are likely to come from the secondhand market (not just shops). For many upgrades there is also a sale of an old guitar - it is just a matter of finding them. Hooking into your local flamenco community and talking to a few guitarists will often reveal guitars for sale, and you should be able to try before you buy. It can be a mutually beneficial transaction - you pay less than the price charged by a dealer and the seller gets more than the dealer would give. If a secondhand privately bought upgrade doesn't work out for you can sell it on without making much of a loss. A shiny new guitar (even a Black Friday deal) will be worth considerably less than you paid for it as soon as you get it home!

I bought a lot of used guitars in my life. You can find true gems for reasonable price if you have clear ideas and you know where to look for. Nonetheless the few times I could afford a brand new guitar that was a special experience and I never regretted. In other words I suggest you to look in the second hand market if you have small money to spend, while to go straight to a luthier if you want to make an investment for life.

Thanks for the advise on considering used guitars. I'm now combing through eBay and Reverb since there are some financing options available. Will be tough to make a choice without being able to play before buying.

If 2500E is above your price range, then probably you need to rethink the Guitar Center option.

Sounds to me like its just meant that Guitar center is expensive and maybe over your price range. I can understand not wanting to buy an instrument without playing it first. Maybe ask whatever the buyer ends up being for some sort of return Policy. Usually you'd bear the shipping costs and whatever damages on the guitar if any, but at least you'd be covered if you find out you hate the guitar.
