Conde Pozuelo de Alarcón

Hola

I have one of these "student" Condes from 1978. Problem is that someone wants to buy it, but I have no idea of its worth, since it is not a real Conde.

Any ideas?

The Conde Hermanos, replying to a question by e-mail, referred that their studio guitars of second and third class made from 1957 to 1968 were made by some employees in a facility based in Calle Santiago Magenta 4, Pozuelo de Arancon, Madrid.
Felipe Conde said he learned to build guitars down there.
After 1968 the Conde studio guitars didn't mention anymore the location in Pozuelo but just the addresses of Gravina and Atocha.
I have no idea if they happened to outsource the 2nd class model or just changed the venue or the label.
According to many flamenco players the guitars made in Pozuelo were a good deal for the price (of course not as good as the first class instruments though).
I have not evidences they were better that the studio guitars made after, though.
The third class guitars had a simpler rounded headstock while the second class the usual Esteso headstock. Often the 3rd class had a 3 pieces back.
I tried a 68 Pozuelo with a good sound but in that case a wrong action and poor details.
Re: the price: I saw a famous dealer in Spain selling an old Pozuelo in good condition for 1800 euro and a different one for more than 2000. Old studio Condes can be found for way less though.

Some of the guitars were pretty good. It is possible to grade their notional quality (but things don't always turn out as you intend) by looking at details such as head design, rosette design, 2 or 3 piece back etc. A photo would help.

The Pozuela workshop was in a little side road that eventually took the name Calle Guitarra. You can still find the Conde name on the gates.
