I try to keep my findings for this "releases" thread on a guitar oriented direction but if you guys would like to see more cante, flamenco fusion or anything else, let me know.
I´m not sure if this is a new album but I´ve just heard it for the first time.
Son Aires de la Frontera - Moroneando
These are the same guys as" Son de la Frontera" only Raul Rodriguez Quiñones(tres cubano flamenca) isn´t involved anymore. In my opinion It´s not as good as the first two albums but I like it! Loads of soniquete de Morón and I really like the cante. If you don´t know them it´s definately worth checking out
next year there'll be releases by Santiago Lara with a couple of collaborations (including Diego del Morao, Estrella Morente, Pat Metheny), and Manuel Valencia who's just started recording...
Laura Vital “Tejiendo lunas” Esther Merino “Mil y una razones” Ezequiel Benítez “Quimeras del tiempo, mi cante”
All three are strong albums, but for me the Ezequiel Benitez one is fantastic, maybe the best flamenco release of 2015. Strong heart felt cante from a singer not trying to sound like Camaron, accompanied by all the main cats of the Jerez scene (D de M, Paco Cepero, Manuel Parrilla etc.).
What are everyone's favourite albums of 2015 now that the year's through and we've all had time to spin them a few times? Guitar wise for me my favourite was Juan Requena, but if we include 2014 it would be Manuel Parrilla by a mile. For Cante the Ezequiel Benitez and Esther Merino albums were my favourites.
