guitar salvador castillo ? help!

hello I would like opinions on guitar salvador castillo is this as good as ramirez second or other large Spanish luthier because I bought an account but I can try?

SC's guitars have a great rep for tone, playability and quality of construction, but I'm not aware of any famous Spanish flamencos playing them.

Hi Kevin, welcome to the foro! You know me, I'm a big fan of Castillo, but I'm sure there are plenty of players here who can tell You the same. As I wrote You on Facebook, I played some big names, but not too many, so I just can compare to those guitars including Contreras, Sanchis Carpio, Rafael Romero, a couple of high-end Conde, Ymai, Ramirez, Bernal, José L. Bellido...

salvador make me a great deal on a flamenco guitar in cypress mexico very nice but the guitar that scare me and November 2012 salvador tell me what is good very flamenco but I'm afraid that if nobody can be no price as well ...
because its doing one and a half years anyway ..

What do you think?

Castillo is very good guitar, yes comparable in sound and play to Ramirez....but not in value. Ramirez has a strong name and reputation and therefore will always command a higher price until Castillo or any other gets the same great reputation. This means that if you have a Ramirez, it will always be easy to sell in the future...but the Castillo we don't know how they will fare in the future. I know someone who bought one for $1800 it was disturbingly good deal. Recently I believe I saw one selling on the market for $4000...a considerable mark up which is a good sign I think for the maker's reputation.

Ricardo,

Are you referring to the old school Ramirez 1a's from the 60-70's? Or the modern FL2's?

yes. Negra I did not like so much.

Ramirez...I don't know what fl2 is so I guess I refer to other makes from 70's to at least 1990.

Hello Kevin, i just recently had Castillo build me a guitar. I got it at the beginning of 2014. It is an amazing guitar. When i first contacted him, He tried to sell me an Orange guitar. I don't like orange guitars so i just told him to build me one with spanish cypress instead haha! I hope you are contacting him directly through his yahoo.mx email. There is a seller in the states that markes the guitars up by 600-700 dollars...what an ****.
