Some Questions on Rasgueado
I'm going to make haste with this post , i just typed out a massive one and accidentally closed this sub window. Anyway i was hoping you guys could help me with some concerns regarding the rasguedo. I was unable to find information via prior searches on most of this stuff. Firstly i have recently began to question my primary second nature type rasguedo that I use which is i,a,m,i - up which i switched to at some point from the standard a,m,i,i. I have not seen any player using that type of Rasg in their toque. I'm wondering if their a reason for that , and why the a,m,i,i is used much more commonly. Also the 5 stroke rasg is now bothering me , I started practicing basic Bulerias compas about a month ago and so far what i have been doing in place of the 5 stroke rasgueado on beat 9 that goes onto beat 10 with the upstroke is something like i,a,m,i-up, i - down accented on the 10th beat. Is that right ? or should i just be playing a 4 stroke Rasg instead of the 5 with an upstroke on beat 10 following the 4 stroke rasg on beat 9. Most methods from utilize the pinky in rasgueados Juan martin, Manuel Granados etc, so now im kinda second guessing what i have been doing in terms of replacing a rasgueado technique with my own as i have never used my pinky. I hope that makes sense, and thank you in advance. All the best.

I should have been a bit more specific in regards to the i,a,m,i Rasgueado that I use which is a downstroke for the first i and an up stroke for the last i. Index down, ring down, middle down, index up? Super strange & very awkward for my right hand... I would do one of these instead: Index down, ring down, middle down, index down or Index up, ring down, middle down, index down Cheers!
