Everything annoys me too, Ron. Tonight my wife and I went out for a night on the town, culminating with opera singer Andrea Bocceli's Christmas concert. One guy behind us loved the concert so much, he kept whistling along...sometimes in tune, sometimes not. Another guy kept talking during the dance numbers. And finally, there was a Russian or other E European family, that just kept talking nonstop--a child and a mother, the whole damn time. I hushed one of them, and it did seem to get better but....the charming thing about Spain was how each person takes responsiblity to make everyone else shut the heck up. I did enjoy the concert although I would have liked relative silence a lot better to hear the show!

Well, as usual I'm going to be a bit against the grain. I quite follow what Dave has said so far. I also find that Andalusion cities are quite unbearable, specially in summer. And Granada I sometimes hate (very often) I live here, I even lived in Granada city for a year. I stay away from the cities mostly. They are extremely noisy, filled with low quality clothes shops and stressed people talking in mobile phones all the time, and when you go to a bar in the evening, you can hardly get in, not to speak about impossible to move or to talk. Some like it. Good for them. When I take a break, I sleep in my car in the forest, play my guitar near some river or mountain and visit some small authentic villages in rural areas to do my shopping. A chat with mr. or mrs. something, and after a week or so I'm totally relaxed. BTW. The beaches are even worse than the cities.

I could imagine Amsterdam to be a nice city. I lived 17 of my adult years in Copenhagen, it's about the same size as Amsterdam, quite international and a lot of art. Wonderfull city. I enjoy Granada for a slow stroll, a kebab in the sunshine, a beer on a terrase and watching life pass by. What I don't like is when I have to do something in Granada.

Because in summer they are totally overfilled with people, sunoils, surf dudes, showoffs, kites, foldable chairs, etc. Now, they are nice
